Hey! Look! GW models!

Really enjoyed being back in Papa's loving embrace, filling gaps with tentacles and slime and generally being disgusting.

I was lucky enough to win a £50 gw voucher so that went on these cheeky chaps.

I think, in retrospect, I should have modified the face of the rotspawn a bit more; I don’t love the lack of eyes.

Bloaters! These are my favourites of the sculpts. I do like that we get head a range of head choices.

I did a bit of reposing, not much, though the addition of the nurgling was a highlight.

Pestigors! Naturally gw don’t provide you with a full team’s worth, so…

Turns out easy build AoS orruks act as a pretty good body substitute!

And, Rotters!

A few head and arm swaps here.

Greatly enjoyed them, all in all.
Enjoyed taking pictures less, but that's me getting to grips with a proper digital camera again.

Probably some Star Wars next

Wotcha. Just checking in. I realise I really now only use dakka as file storage and record keeping - but that's fine lol.

Something TOTALLY different - GUNPLA! Outside of Battle of the Planets and Pacific Rim, I am not a massive fan of Macross et al. Shocking I know. And this is not me being caught in the recent instagrammer gundam hype. However, my middle spawn is a massive fan of all things Japanimation, so when our local FP was doing a free build and take event, he jumped at the chance... and because it was incredibly badly advertised, there were loads left over, so he snagged one for his old man. Primed, and then initally painted on sprue. Then, the lego addicted elder spawn built the kit (bloody students); not bad, though he said the hip skirt was a nightmare and drew blood. Bit of gapping in the legs but not awful.

And the finished article.

Ona bit of a star wars kick, working on Jedi Hunters. However, managed to snag a copy of the Memoir '44 Battle of Hoth reskin with the promos, and this month's painting theme is Chaff so... Hordes of models you say? Oh well.

I'm going to try to get the whole lot painted up. That's a perfectly sane thing to do in 3 weeks.

Tabletop Scotland was a blast, and met the mighty Savage Ork Guy and Peachy, truly world-class painters and lovely, lovely people to boot. Had lots of good chat, it's not a miniature heavy con (mostly BG and TTRPG) so they were able to natter at length. Good times. I did pick up the Bifrost promo mini though, a Dragonborn Sorceress, so she's getting painted up for lesser Spawn's D&D campaign.

Better you than me. HOWEVER... keeping the middling happy is a worthy cause.

Thanks old son, and lovely to hear from you.

This month's dakka contest, as mentioned, is chaff.
So I have interpreted it as the hordes of imperial soldiery and rebel troops of the Battle of Hoth - plus vehicles and installations.

79 minis is a perfectly reasonable number to enter, right?

Quite pleased, all in all

Oh, talking of keeping said spawn happy, painted up the Dragonborne sorceress promo from Bifrost minis that I got at TTS.

Fun fig. Lovely folk making lovely old school metal minis.

Coming next is more Star Wars, the Jedi Hunters - I just need to take more/better pics - and then maybe back to BB.

I've never seen that Battle of Hoth game before. Looks fun.
The minis came together well too.
