Hello,
Please move/delete if in the wrong thread.
In essence I'm just looking to see people's thoughts on reasonable pricing for selling second hand armies or miniatures, in particular to the Mordian iron guard.
I have 80 or so standard mordian guardsmen stuffed away (unpainted/unassembled NIB bar 20) for a long time and as I am no longer really "practicing" the hobby (beyond lurking around here, watching plenty of YT and looking at nice miniatures). I feel like they should probably go to someone who will be able to paint them and appreciate them more than me.
Having had a quick look on Ebay, some squads people are asking for upwards of £70.00 (for a standard 10 man squad with no special weapons) and anywhere between £7-8 per miniature which seems a tad outrageous for the standard troopers.
What are peoples thoughts on pricing as I am massively out of touch with the second hand market right now.
Thanks for the help

Old metal figures are the same as anything else: They're worth exactly what you get someone else to pay for them.
If you're looking at prices on site like eBay, one thing to keep in mind is that the prices for currently running (or buy it now) items aren't really that useful. What you need to do instead is go into the seller functions and search for the completed auctions. That'll show you what people are actually paying for the models.

These are rare!
They are worth whatever you can get for them.
I would take them all off you at the inflated prices, frankly.

What Solkan said. I occasionally sell off some of my Ork metal minis from the 90s. I always check the completed auctions to get an idea of the true value, if any. People were eager to get a pulsa rokkit, but not a metal lobba. So rarity is a factor.

As others have said, look at Completed Listing for a good idea of what things are actually selling at.
But if you seriously think 7GBP/model is too high? Throw a squad up at 5/model & see what happens. (hint: some Mordian fan will thank you for the deal).

Or, you could have a look at the Oldhammer Trading Company Facebook page - lots of people looking for old metals there.

Just look at what GW charge for the current Heavy Intercessors. People are so used to high GW prices for current plastics that for old out of production metals the "high" prices actually seem rather fair to most people.
I have been buying and selling a lot of lotr miniatures lately in my hunt for old metals. At first I thought some of the prices were rather high but then I put it in perspective to the 40k models I was selling off at the same time and came to the conclusion it wasn't so bad. I can sell a current plastic Space Marine character that came in a hugely discounted box(Indomitus) for up to 20-25€(someone bought a captain from me for 28€ + shipping once) a model. 1/2-1/3 of that for an old OOP metal model seems a very fair price in comparison to that.

Unassembled, unpainted, at Christmastime?
Yeah, you are sitting on a white-metal goldmine.
One thing to mention is to note also how most of the completed auctions are packaged - 10 man squads? inidividuals? and so on... this should give an indication of how people want to buy, and the best way for you to list, you minis.
Why not let us know how things go? Let us know wat you sell, how much, how fast, to whom... would be interesting!
