Hi guys! I’m an avid daemon collector and I was wondering if anyone had heard any rumours about a release date for the 9th edition codex for Chaos Daemons. At this point the current book has gotta be one of the oldest currently in circulation.

If anyone knows of any rumours let me know!

Thanks.

Nope. Custodians&gsc next, then tau. Rumours pointing at eldar & csm next. No word of daemons

(daemons 5th oldest of unreleased ones btw)

Games workshop said 2022 was going to be a bumper year for chaos.

They said that when they were noting lack of traitorous marines though. Doesn't mean daemons come.

Though not many codexes left but with slowered release schedule...

The Daemons book may not be the oldest but its certainly the most out of date!

Buying it would be a pointless exercise for new players given the sheer amount of missing datasheets and datasheets that have been changed since its release.

Its missing all the new keepers, the new slaanesh heralds of various types, the updated bloodcrushers, flesh hounds, fiends, Horrors, belakor, changeling.

Add to that the internal balance of the book is utterly woeful with many units completely outmatched in all departments by other options in the book including points.

The whole thing needs a top to bottom re-write and re-imagining, an update just won't cut it and that could well be the reason its taking so long.

Hey, you forgot something - like telling the op where they CAN find these missing or updated units.

You're right!
Honestly I'm not really sure where the latest set of them are - the horror datasheet has been revised so many times I lost count. They used to be printed in chapter approved each year but I think they stopped that last year so my best guess would be the damons psychic awakening book (engine war?) or lets face it Wahapedia or battlescribe :-)

Easiest way is to get sub on 40k app(either direct sub or warhammer+). then you have all info there on your phone.

Does mean you pay little per month though.

This rumour dump seems to be coming true, unfortunately it doesn't say a lot about daemons.

I really wish they would just go to books based on each God instead of having one big demon book.
