Imperial Recruit in Training

I'm brand new to this so apologies,
I've got a valkyrie and I enjoyed painting it and using it in a game, it has a rule called "Roving Gunship" which adds +1 to hit at the risk of losing it's -1 to be hit. I am looking at getting a Vulture gunship but it seems to lack the rule "Roving Gunship" despite it having the option to hover which offers it... No real benefits...? Was this ever clarified or is that just how it is?
A similar but not so important question, the Valkyrie's weapon profile for hellstrike missiles is Heavy 1, despite being armed with 2 of them like the Rocket Pods, but the Vulture Gunship's weapon profile is Heavy 2. So I can only fire a hellstrike missile on a Valkyrie once per turn?
And finally, do flyers benefit from regimental doctrines like ground vehicles do? And are there any tips or advice for running a Valkyrie/Vulture? Besides Don't
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hovering lets you control your movement more. But no inherent damage bonuses for the Vulture, correct. You can fire two Hellstrike Missiles, provided you have two of the weapons. Yes, they get Regiment Traits by default. And don't apologize! Lord, the mistakes I made reading the 5th Edition Tau Codex... I feel silly just thinking about it. At least you're right about what you're thinking, and just looking for confirmation.

You can fire each weapon once. If you are listed as having two weapons of heavy 1, then if you fast roll, you have 2 shots

As far as I know they do NOT get regimental traits as their keyword is "Aeronautica Imperialis" and not "<Regiment>"

Thats true. They lack <REGIMENT>, so no regimental traits.

Check your keywords, OP, because if they’re right (and I have no particular reason to doubt them) then I was wrong.
Anything <REGIMENT> gets the traits, but not anything that lacks that tag.

Reading the entry:
Each model is equipped with a multi-laser and hellstrike missiles
Unfortunately, "hellstrike missiles" is a single entry, so you only get 1 shot. However, you can replace "hellstrike missiles" with two "multiple rocket pods", and each "multiple rocket pod" has d6 shots. So you would get a total of 2d6 shots with "multiple rocket pods" when fast rolling them.

The offensive benefit of hover was more of less nullified when vehicles received a blanket buff of not being susceptible to -1 to hit for heavy weapon if the firing unit is a vehicle.
As above, the benefit is limited to being able ignore the minimum move restrictions in order to position it within 0~20" of its starting location.
