Red dawn is an interesting concept, sounds like something that should hit it off in the US. VDV and naval forces also fit my own northern front soviet VDV army, so looking forwards to some VDV lists and new units
They haven't even started working on Checkpoint Charlie, that was floated as an idea for a future project that they *want* to work on, more than an actual project that they are actually working on.

That Red Dawn expansion is the newest abormination from a long line of dogghak by Battlefront since 2018.
As someone who's TY armies are Britain and East Germany it's hard to really care too much about Red Dawn. Even if I did collect US/Soviets, the whole scenario bleeds "Hollywood history" just a bit too much. Obviously Team Yankee as a whole is AU/What If, but invading the US feels too far for a setting that at least tried to cling onto believable in the fluff.

Most cold war wargaming is speculative fiction, the red dawn scenario is just so implausible but I expect it'll be a hit anyway. Who doesn't want to drive a t80 up wall street or whatever

Well if they are being true to the source material, "Red Dawn" would very specifically be a Soviet invasion from the South via socialist Mexico (following a soviet backed coup) with the support of Cuban and Nicaraguan troops and from the north via the Bering Strait, Alaska, and Canada. Most of the fighting is isolated to Alaska/Northwest Canada and the American southwest with a Soviet occupation zone that stretches from the rocky mountains to the mississippi river, though a number of american cities have been nuked (Washington DC among them).
So, no T-80s up wall street.

I'd brought up the idea of a Red Dawn scenario back on the Battlefront forums (when those still existed), but the idea was roundly ridiculed by everyone present at the time. As a result, I'm surprised to see it here. It might be interesting. But then again, someone at Battlefront seems to think that the Sgt. York could have been made workable with a couple of months of work, and that the RDF/LT had a snowball's chance in Hell of being accepted (not only did it not, but there were far more popular light tank designs also available at the time). So who knows.
Personally, I'd be more interested in them finally expanding the game to include (and I know this is just crazy-talk here) Southern Europe, or possibly East Asia.

Personally I would have preferred a Soviet invasion of Denmark and the Nordic countries covering VDV and Soviet Naval Infantry against Denmark, Norway, and Sweden (Strv 103c please and thank you). I'm not sure what they could conceivably add via Red Dawn for American players that isn't already well covered. I suppose they could take it as an opportunity to add some stuff to Canada? They could potentially add Mexico, Cuba, and latin american socialist stuff as more REDFOR but none of them really have any kit that really stands out as adding value to the red side of things.(unlike the diversity of kit that NATO/Blue currently enjoys).

Oh boo hoo. Flames of War has never been a particularly historically accurate game, your fault for treating it as such. Personally, I'm glad to see the MWM come back and hope they add more, including options for early and late war.
PS - the Bison is historical, 36 of them served in North Africa and some of those later took part in Barbarossa. There were 10 Tiger (P)s briefly in service though only 1 ever saw combat and the rest (plus a number of additional chassis) were converted into Ferdinands. There were over 100 P26/40s built (though only a handful completed) and used by the Italians and Germans in various capacities, albeit not in North Africa. About 150 Semovente da 75.34 (I.E. the Semovente "long") were built, about 60 were fielded by the Italians and 80 by the Germans, seeing combat deployments on both sides. 20-30 or so (depending on your source) Semovente da 90/53 were built and sent to North Africa, many of which participated in the defense of Sicily. There were 30 Churchill Gun Carriers kicking around though they never saw active service as by the time testing completed they were superceded by the more capable Archers and Achilles. 27 Boarhound armored cars were sent to North Africa, they saw light and sporadic combat but were used nonetheless. There were 40 M6s kicking around though they never left the United States.
Sounds like they added a good bit of historical content to me.

I loved the old midwar monsters, good to see them back. The boarhound and T14 look like fairly modern vehicles, would be a really cool looking, if totally unrealistic force
