There are 20 female heads and each comes with two neck options and in two pre-supported sizes. I used all my experience making test conversions with the metal heads, as well as seeing how customers used those heads, to make these updated heads as useable and versatile as possible.

The pre-launch page is up - give it a visit (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/statuesque-miniatures-female-heads-stls)
and click 'Notify me on launch' and Kickstarter will do just that.

The Kickstarter is something new for me as I am not selling the heads as a physical product. With the increase in home 3d printing, I'm not sure the market is there to justify the time and cost needed to produce the heads in metal - I think a significant number of people who previously might have bought conversion products, such as heads in metal or resin, are now 3d printing them themselves. If the Kickstarter is successful, I'll hopefully get some print sellers on board to sell to folk who don't have 3d printers. The metal range will continue to be available as well.

I've no idea how many people will want these heads, which is why I'm doing a Kickstarter rather than releasing them direct on something like MyMiniFactory. I've heard the opinion that STL Kickstarters aren't legitimate because the work is all done - the STLs are ready for sale. But there's always more work that can be done on print supports and the like and I need to know the time taken to do that is justified. And to be blunt, all small creators - both those offering physical and digital items - benefit greatly from the huge marketing reach of Kickstarter. I can't really afford not to make use of that. Without Kickstarter, Statuesque Miniatures would no longer exist.

Well, this is very relevant to my interests. Backed.

Will you be providing redemption codes for any platfform? I find that I much prefer to have this kinda files backed up somewhere (MMF, Cults, Gumroad... there's multiple options).

I noticed there isnt a license level for people to sell physical copies. Will you be selling physical copies of these heads eventually?

I dont have a 3D printer but keep note of stuff like these to buy later on Etsy, but it doesnt look like these will be available like that?

Hopefully I'll be able to get some print sellers on board after the Kickstarter. I wanted to keep things simple for the campaign and will likely do print licences outwith Kickstarter, using Patreon or MyMiniFactory. Something like that anyway.

Thanks! I am relieved and grateful to all the backers. Did not know how this would go to I'm really glad to have reached the funding goal.

I've been playing around with Frostgrave Cultists, another of the sets of figures I think work really well with these heads. I put a lot of effort into making these heads as usable as possible, with two sizes and two neck attachments, all pre-supported.

Are the heads on the cultists the thinner neck or the rounded one? man I wish I had a 3d printer...

I used the small heads with no collar (the thinner neck) and drilled a 2.5mm socket into the body of the cultists. It creates a really strong join and you can easily pose the head. Much easier than either snipping down the neck, or even using a shorter neck in the first place.

I hope this will eventually lead to a Kickstarter for your OOP miniatures. I would
love to print me some more Resistance Fighters, if you aren't going to sell them yourself.

When you do get some merchant licences sorted please stick a section on your website giving us links

some projects with merchant printing licences never do (even when they don't offer printing theymselves where i could understand it) and it's so annoying to try and figure out where you can get physical product from

Of course, will do. Seems the fair thing to do for the licensee.

Sorry didn't mean to overlook this. It's not so much that I don't want to sell the Resistance Fighters again, it's just such a huge job getting it all back here and restarting production in house that so far I've had a 2 year mental block on it. I think they're better in metal, I don't know if my 10-years-ago sculpting holds up under the minute scrutiny of an stl download but still works great in metal. For stl releases, I'd prefer to do new things.

Stuck in the snow.

I've bought your metal casts in the past and I definitely feel like you have the best female head sculpts to match 40k proportions. Better even than GW

Given the success of the campaign so far would you consider adding any stretch goals? Maybe something like variants of the existing sculpts with things like rebreathers or bandanas?

I'd love to see more berets. Or night vision goggles. But nah, not as a stretch goal, but as a future campaign / release.

As time goes by I grow less and less enthused about stretch goals, early birds and most KS gak.

Nowadays I prefer simple campaigns with clear objectives and no scope creep.

That said, I would like a bit of an explanation about what you exactly mean when you say "drill a 2.5mm socket into the body". Just for clarity ^^

I think they are better in metal too (well, I like the weight), and would be very happy if they returned some day! I just thought in case it wasn't profitable to produce them, it would've been cool. Good to hear they are somewhere down the line.

That's my preference too, but I hope you won't mind the latest update! LINK

In my defence, since I've been working on them - unplanned - I thought I might as well include them in the Kickstarter. But they'll be included for all backers if we hit £1500, not a Add-Ons. Pretty straightforward, I hope.

I just use a 2.5mm drill bit to drill out a socket where the neck joins the body. I'll try and get a couple of photos taken when I get a chance.

The Kickstarter is rolling along nicely and I've been working on another head. A smiling head, even though they creep me out.

One final stretch goal, this time for some bulkier collars for all the heads, suitable for large, bulky, armoured figures...

Thanks for posting the examples. The heads are excellent, though the head on the marine looks a tad too small for my liking.

Honestly, it kinda looks small enough to actually fit inside the helmet ^^
