The rotation announcement got me thinking about Sicarius again, being the Captain of the Victrix Guard which are only "officially" on the table as 2 person Powersword/Stormshield Primaris units. So I tried creating a demi-company using just first born that could in theory represent the first born of the Victrix Guard. In theory if I see enough Blast weapons I can combat squad the Tacs, Assaults, and Devs. The Company Veterans geared up like Victrix Guard - ish turned out much better than I expected. They wouldn't be that tough to model. Guilliman, the Chapter Command (and Sicarius) are there to thematically represent that this is the Victrix Guard following Guilliman around. I wish I had room for an Apothecary (even though they can't - stupidly -) heal Guilliman on the tabletop he can't go 3 chapters in a Black Library novel without needing one. I'd like to turn the Assault Squad into Vanguard Vets with Power Sword + Stormshield, and I also wish I could fit a couple Drop Pods, but I'd rather have the Demi-Company, and the rest of the theme. Did I miss anything that could be thematic? How about effectiveness? Its 60 models of Marines, when I think most hit 35-45.

Very thematic! I like the list. For now all I play is 1st born with Ultramarines since it’s mainly all I have. Your list is something similar to what I mainly run without Bobby-G, but add Tigerius, Sgt Chronus and an Apothecary. I’m always disappointed with the Assault Marines. They just never pull their own weight unless facing Astra Militarum or Tau infantry.

Assault marines are sadly no longer Fight Phase Champions. They're hidden power fists (The Eviscerator(s)) - I'd say they're like Pegasus Knights in Fantasy. You send them against rear units like Bolt Throwers (think Devastators, Basilisks, Mek Guns, Snipers and the like. They probably work against shoot troops like Intercessors or Heavy Intercessors. I think they lose point for point against Assault Intercessors though.
