So, I finally added a FW Tesseract Ark to my collection.
The kit comprises of a completely unique plastic sprue + a bunch of resin pieces.

Not all the parts on the sprue are used in building this thing.
And (as is) I don't see any reason for the resin parts to be resin. After all, if your willing to make, & keep making, 1 low sales volume plastic sprue, why not two? (Yeah, yeah, maybe cost....)

Unless the sprue was intended as the base for multiple different kits.

So was there ever something else that used this sprue?
Something that came & went before I was aware of it?

Isn't it just the Catacomb Command Barge / Annihilation Barge?

There are similarities, but don't think so. Number of engines is wrong (4 vs 3), and the horizontal and vertical 'arcs' don't match up, neither do their glyphs (one is circle triangle in a line, while the FW kit has square and circle with a different orientation. Bottom glyphs are circle circle triangle vs vertical triangle circle). If its using the CCB as a base, it uses very little of it.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

It is definitely not the barge spue.

The plastic sprue isn't unique to the ark...That's the thing. It's NOT low sale volume plastic sprue.

Not everything should be plastic. That's why we have 30-40e solo heroes...
