Hey guys - I would like your opinion on this list. I wanted to tend more towards a shooty list, while keeping some units for countercharge (banshees) and screening/midfield contesting purposes.

Autarch is there to buff the mid field melee units, support with some extra CC, while being able to sprint and take an objective with sunstorm (obsec).

Falcons will host 2x6 DA's. The 10 man squad of banshees will be deployed behind obscuring terrain, waiting to countercharge and shred something.

Warlock Skyrunner will be doing psychic actions or take/steal an objective with Will of Asuryan on him.

Secondaries: Engage On All Fronts, Retrieve Nachmund Data + Psychic Interrogation OR one of the Purge The Enemy secondaries (situational).

Fairly certain you canchoose Stand Firm for one unit only.

The army really is limited on performing actions (I'm assuming you are playing GT 2022 Missions as you wrote competitive).

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Yep, you're right indeed on the exarch power, my mistake. Edited the main list, I added 1x6 avengers, made the avengers 6 man squads, and removed 1x5 banshees. I really liked the idea of a banshee squad hopping out of a Falcon to charge key units, but I feel in this list the DA's will be much more useful. I still have a 1x10 banshee blob.

Looks good, maybe a bit too heavy on the bright lances and light on anti-infantry/action units although the Avengers will help.
Will do very well in some matches but if you go up against anything vaguely hordey I think you'd lose out on the mission.

Hey man! I too was thinking the same, also I think I better make the spearhead detachment with the psykers Ulthwè. I could give AML's to 1 or 2 of the war walkers, they'd be very versatile in case of hordes. OR I could trim off a ww, a warlock and a couple banshees for a serpent full shuriken cannons, to host the banshees.

I'm updating the list in original post.

Thanks for your input

The thread indicates Competitive. Are you playing within the 2022 GT Missions? If so, they added a restriction that does not permit us to run one detachment Ulthwe and another detachment Biel Tan. This list would need to be one or the other Craftworld,

I'm not sure what Secondary objectives you have in mind. Engage on All Fronts stands out, but this list will be fairly susceptible to Bring It Down (though the Ulthwe 6++ and Strands of Fate could be quite useful as a mitigating factor).

Starting the game with 5 CP. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I've only played 2 games with the new codex; game 1 I didn't use many CP at all, but game 2 I was nearly depleted at the end of turn 2. I think the difference is learning more as I play and I think there are some very good stratagems in there.

Good luck and let us know how it fares.

Yeah I'm going to play GT22 missions. I didn't know about the restriction, with this specific list I'm going with Ulthwe for sure, then. My go-to secondaries would be EoAF and retrieve nachmund data, + a 3rd to determine based on the enemy's list.

I agree on the list being susceptible to Bring It Down. I believe Falcons, Night Spinners and War Walkers are very strong not to play and I really like them.

Will report back here with my impressions, I'll have my first game next wednesday.

Be careful with Retrieve Nachmund Data (RND). You do not have any units in the Troop selection. The Dire Avengers, 5 models strong, could fail the action on the roll of a 6. As an option, increase the number of Dire Avengers to 6 strong and they would auto pass RND.

Guide does only work on CORE units which walkers are not ... sad and hidden nerf on all our basic spells

Hey! Yeah, someone already mentioned that, indeed that's an annoying nerf on a rather strong combo.

Indeed, I am updating the list and bringing the DA's to 6, and doing a patrol (rangers as troops) + spearhead, so I'll have more CP's. I plan to include warp spiders too, for damage mainly but they can help with actions too with Will of Asuryan should I need it, I feel this to be more flexible.

What do you think about the secondaries I listed in the original post? I feel like EoAF will be staple, so the rest will tend towards RND and Psychic Interrogation or Purge the Enemy based on the enemy list.
