Reading up on Legion Outrider Squadrons in 30K and I notice something odd. The fluff entry says the Legions used bikes or "scramblers". So what the heck is a scrambler and how would one represent a scrambler on the table top? Sounds to me like a small buggy of some sort, like a quad maybe, has anyone seen or heard of such a thing in Space Marine armouries either in the days of the Heresy or 40K?

It's not a specifically 40K (or 30K) term. Scrambler bikes are a real thing.

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

So basically what those slick GSC models are riding. Gotcha. I think Space Marines on dirt bikes could be a thing.

I think phobos marines on lighter off-road bikes would be a great replacement for the dated scout bikers.

I read your reply and immediately went looking for Phobos bikers to see if they were kitbashable for HH. They do not exist yet.

And might never. But would be cool and in character.

I like using my old scout bikes in 40k. Lots of fun tricks, if not the raw firepower of normal marine bikes.

But like most of the scout models, not the best sculpts.

Not really germane to the background forum though.

30k have cool bikes, and have recon/scout marines. Would be fun to see them together.
