Heya Dakkanauts!

So I bought a WGA Halfling sprue on a whim. The first one on my hitlist was the sword knife & shield champion. Like this guy:

Spoiler:

But I hit a slight snag. What arm did they use for the shield arm? I've been staring at my sprue for hours and I'm just not seeing it.

Spoiler:

Is it just one of the spear arms with the hand clipped from the haft? I honestly can't tell.

I'd've said it was one of the handless stub arms next to the bodies at the bottom of the sprue because nothing else on the sprue requires handless arms.

That was my guess too. Those were the arms I was talking about; those handless arms go with the spears, since the hand is attached to the spear haft.

The photo makes it look like the arm is pulled in closer to the body, so I wasn't sure.

Unfortunately it's hard to tell from the images of the finished product.
I think the angle of the shield (plus the way it's being held) makes it hard to pin down but I agree that there's no other arms on the sprue that could pass as being adequate

Thanks. I just wanted input before I started chopping.

Yes, the handless stub arms go with the buckler. That's how I built mine.

Is there a (hand) on the back side of the shield?
Because those handless arms could be for shield too if it has (wrist hand) on back side.
I noticed that the elbow angle is quite sharp. Only arm on spruce that has that angle, and not holding anything, is the one in the top-left of the example image (but it is for the right hand) and perhaps the handless arms, but from image they are facing the camera, I cant tell the angle.

The shield is flat on the back. It looks like the best bet is one of the hand-less spear arms.

So this is how Sheriff Cockerel turned out:

The pose isn't bad, but it's not quite the great defense pose on the box.
It'll do, though

(my girlfriend is still gobsmacked that he has a rooster on his helmet)

Thanks again, everyone, for your input.
