While looking it over and reading other things, the terminator librarian is being discontinued. GW is including this in their new GK CB, pawing off models they won't make anymore. I paint GK so I'm pretty disappointed. The new 1000 Sons got a sweet new looking model while they're just throwing in the scaps for GK. I can understand them not including Crowe, but they could have easily used Grey Knights Brother Captain (though it's made of resin) as the substitute for CB command, or just make a new sculp like they do with some CB boxes.

Your guys' thoughts?

The fact that you can’t get him alone is not unique. There are a number of minis locked in boxes.

One thing about taking minis out of circulation is to reduce the number of active SKUs they need to track/stock/whatever. From an inventory control POV getting rid of the individual librarian slims things down. Even if you can still get him in the box

Irritating, but makes some sense.

rotation models are not gone just out of production run with plans to run again in the future

that said its possible the rotated out not thinking about greyknights.

looking at the range the model is still listed as part of the greyknights combat patrol box so looks like it can still be acquired through there.

Also if i recall the grey knights terminator kits included the bits to make a librarian

The Terminator Librarian went into range rotation, not discontinuation. If you are desperate for one the second hand market is likely about to be flooded thanks to the GK CP box.

My thoughts....
1) So you paint GK & won't be able to get this one solo in the near future. Just buy however many you need now, while they're available.
2) If you need one in the future, buy it solo off EBay etc.

"Last chance to buy" sounds like it's out of print.
My point was the 1000 Sons get a neat new model as the HQ. While for GK they're just trying to unload cargo with a unit already buyable and on its way out.

I'm not mad I can't get it, I'm mad that 1ks get a new model while GK gets something that's been on shelves for a while. I want a new model, not one that may never be be made again.

Yes and there is an article for WarCom telling you it's going into 40ks range rotation and will be back at some point in the future. As for a new model, GK got an updated Castellan Crowe and GW did the right thing by not making another CP box with a Named Character in it.

Or that that it won't be available to buy after April 3rd due to being rotated out of the range for a time as per this Warhammer Community article. It will literally be your 'last chance to buy' the model until such time as it comes back into the range.

Thanks for the responses. I'm probably just butt hurt they didn't include an actual GK model as the HQ and not something just lying around.
