Gw released a download today for which psychic awakening/war zone rules are considered to be still in use, and which are replaced by codex.

Nothing too exciting, except Crusher Stampede rules appear to no longer be considered current to the tyranid codex.

Sticking a date or version number on there would have been an idea...

I wonder why some are "Valid until January 2023" but for others it's June 2023?

Probably due to Codex release dates. We're only down to Daemons and Guard not confirmed for an update right?

I'm guessing because of the new "GT seasons" thing they're trying.

5 month old hardcover book that cost $55 is now kindling, nice one GW. I'm never paying $1 for a campaign supplement again even if I play this game 50 more years. The quality and lifespan are worth a small fraction of the cost.

I have both the OoML and Bloody Rose 'supplements'. I would never in a million years pay for that pathetic amount of content. I also have CA2022. I refused and still refuse to pay for CA2022.

There are conclusions to be drawn there. One of them is 'don't buy campaign books unless you're really into the narrative'.

You won't be making use of the content from said books, then, I take it?

I will make use of the content I like, I'll just access it via Waha instead of paying GW $50.

Don't buy their supplements.

Have to agree with this. Have quite a few supplements(Broken Realms and Psychic Awakening) and it's all more or less useless at this point. The lore bits from it can even be read elsewhere making the entire supplements moot.

Stopped more or less buying them after Book of Rust and seeing the rate of release along with the meager rules in each book.

Hopefully, that's exactly the message that this will send.

While I agree the general "do not buy supplements", I don't believe this in particular is true.

You can find lore summaries elsewhere, but summaries tend to make mistakes, omit information or outright misinterpret the text.

If people don't want to buy these supplements because of this latest stunt, that's cool - but they shouldn't then think they're entitled to make use of the rules that are included in the book.

So if two people are playing a game, both have to own the campaign book or they aren't allowed to play the missions? You should be a GW sales rep. Kidding, even the GW store managers aren't like that. It seems to be a uniquely white knight position

I would rather they not put any matched play rules in these books. They're so visibly half arsed that there's no reason for them to exist. The Bloody Rose codex supplement was less pages than the PICTURE SPREAD they had about the army AND had a typo that made Morven, Celestine, Hospitallers, and Dialogus illegal in BR detachments. Chapter Approved 2022 was so bad, especially in light of the Tau, Custodes, and Eldar books, that they could have just not printed it and balance would probably be better than it is now.

If they have to bake rules into them, I'll acquire them in whatever way avoids giving GW money for it. But they shouldn't bake rules into them. If you want to write a campaign book, write a campaign book. Don't drop in a 3 page codex FAQ to try and force people to buy your garbage cash-in.

I reallly hate the last couple of books GW put out.

We definitely didn't get any strats, custom traits, or relics from that book. So it was just Stern.
