So last night I did a thing. I got bored and created a whole Chaos Champion out of spare parts because I had another marine whom I was trying to promote to an exalted champion, so I needed a replacement. So here is Champion Karl Konig. A headstrong Aspiring Champion of the Iron Vipers, who are my created warband/legion led by Lord Tarkin, the namesake of this very account.

Champion Konig was born a slave on the Iron Vipers homeworld of Hannos, a traitor Knight World located at the edge of the Maelstrom, conquered and settled by the Vipers in the 33rd millennium. Konig was born in the 35th millennium and would survive a brutal life of the strong vs the weak, and would pass the homicidal trials of the Chaos Marines, becoming one with them. An absolutely ferocious warrior with an exceptional height and build, even for an Astartes. It's rumored that pieces of his armor were utilized from terminator armor to fit his build. Konig would become good friends with his Champion and mentor, Champion Antarin, an ex Dark Angel now in the employ of the Iron Vipers. Antarin would go on to become an exalted champion and serve at his master's side, so he had Konig take his place as the squad champion. Konig has served ever since as aspiring champion, his reluctance to follow rules, even the few rules that Chaos Marines hold, as well as his almost instinctual habit of defying the authority of his fellow champions and leadership, even coming to blows with Cordaris Zull, the second in command of the entire legion and this has left him aloof among the leadership as a result. The recent death of his mentor and last remaining friend in Antarin during the 13th Black Crusade will be a big contributor to the way the rest of his life plays out, as he will no longer be protected.

I like this Champion. Good use of Possessed backpack (I do that too). Is that power weapon from an existing sprue or was it kitbashed from a few things? Been a while since I worked in Heretic Astartes.

Yes, you are indeed correct, my fault. Admittedly I've been away for far too long and I may have forgotten a few things haha but yes, this guy was kitbashed with pieces from at least 3 different boxsets. His legs and arms are the original outdated and OoP Chaos Marines (legionaries). His power maul and the hand holding it are actually utilized from the new Havocs, his head as well. And his torso was taken from the newer monopose legionaries. I hate how GW does all their new awesome looking models....monopose. So I decided to just take the awesome looking torso plating and just start from there and this is where I finished. And his backpack may have come from the possessed or maybe the OoP legionaries, can't remember.

Apologies, brother. I've been away in the Eye of Terror for too long and my mind has become temporarily warped.

Well now i want to see him with some paint! Get to it when the warp fog lifts!
