Hi what books are a good read that also give a feel for how DA are presented in the current setting.

I believe Shadowy Geometry: The Gothic Triangle to be the best book about dark angles.

The Gav Thorpe Unforgiven anthology (I think it is a trilogy at heart with some short stories) is what you seek. You follow some squadies through a line company and the Ravenwing - they progress etc. Lots of named characters are involved as well. It is pre-rift, so maybe that does not meet your requirement?

War of Secrets follows some Primaris Dark Angels. I didn’t love the book, but it does show how the Primaris are treated.

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand

That's quite an obtuse reference, Olthannon

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

Angels of Darkness by Gav Thorpe is also really good and really set the tone for DA, the Unforgiven trilogy follows on a lot of its plot threads so you kind of want to read it first.
