I just got and put together my Kratos tank, readying it for priming (after the TStorms pass).

What is your planned load-out for your Kratos tank? All-volkite looks like "the best" (why, GW? Why is it so hard to stat out trade-offs that matter? ) for non-magentized, but I'm curious if others have another take.

Also, what's your plan to use and defend them on the battlefield? Will they be a major piece of your army or the sideshow?

And pics, if you've got 'em

I'm going with either full Volkite or mostly volkite with Melta. But prob melta most of the time, cuz ya know Salamanders. Almost done with the drakescale and physical battle damage so hopefully will be throwing some paint on it soon.

Mostly Volkite. (not the short range 2 shot calivers, because they're pretty inferior. Probably lascannons there, but maybe heavy bolter or autocannons (autocannons over HBs just to keep on the same range band).
The culverins, on the other hand, are best in slot.

The battlecannon's fairly rubbish, and the melta cannon is redundant with all the better (cheaper, faster) platforms for melta in the SM list.

Volkite gives the tank a pretty distinct role and is fairly all comers, with lots of firepower.

I got three, planning on building one main turret option each.
The "Caliban's Hammer" gets the battle cannon and two sponson lasguns.
The "Fire of loyalty" gets the melta cannon, sponsons are flamers and gets an extra heavy flamer for the pintle mount.
Last tank still needs a name but will be all volkite.
The auxillary weapons in the main hull can be swapped out without magnetization so I can be flexible which I want to use, most likely am option that reduces the dice rolls

Are you talking 40K or 30K?

I've got three for my Tsons in 30K.

All Volkite Build "The Rage of Nikaea"
Melta with Heavy Bolters and Heavy Flamers "The Iron Will" named in Honor of Magnus' brother, Perturabo.
Battle Cannon with Quad Las "The Prosperine Phoenix"

I plan to get at least one for my Loyalist Emperor's Children as well, but I've no idea how I plan to build that one yet.

I bought one for my white scars. It's weird they still haven't released rules for a chaos version, but moving on...

I built mine with volkite sponsons, as that seemed like a good all round weapon. I've magnetised the hull mounts and turret guns and glued a multimelta to the turret cuploa. When I first field it I'll probably go for either melta or possibly volkite turret, with lascannon hull mounts. I've got a primaris white scars force, so the extra anti tank of the lascannon mounts might be the most useful for some early anti-tank plinking, before I start smashing stuff close up.

I've also find a source for stl sponsons, so I might get some printed to have a fully modular kit.
