Anyone go out and see it? Saw it today and have to admit it was pretty damn creepy.

I am going to try to see it in the next day or so.

So far his movies have been hit or miss for me. Get Out was great. Us was really dumb and a huge let down.

1) do you agree with that at all?
2) where would you say this one sits on a scale of Get Out to Us?

Glad I am not alone in thinking that Get Out was great, while US was dumb. I could see what he was aiming for with Us, just it didn't work.

I really, really hope that Nope is not another metaphor for Racism. Otherwise, Jordan Peele is starting to look like a one trick pony.

I too loved Get Out but found Us to be incredibly stupid.

The premise of Us is good. There could be a good story in there. But the actual explanation for what is going on is so incredibly stupid it makes the rest of the movie fall apart.

I went and saw the movie a couple days ago and personally I think this is Jordan Peele's best movie. Or at least as good as Get Out.

It moves away from the racial metaphors and is more about how Hollywood is a terrible industry and our obsession with spectacle is not a healthy coping mechanism.

It has to be one of the more unique alien movies I have seen in awhile.

OK, that sounds quite similar to Rubber (The best film about a killer Tyre you will ever see), so is a good concept. Looking forward to it now.

Just got back from seeing Nope. I think this is his best movie so far. Do recommend.

Overall enjoyed it. My only gripe would be that there did feel like a few spots could have been trimmed a bit and not lost anything. It is generally a slower paced film, which I like, but a few snips here and there would have helped with overall. Still it is a pretty tense film from beginning to end.

Hmmm, this is one of those times where I shouldn't judge a movie by its trailer by the sounds of it.

The trailer really put me off, but reading the comments here I might try to go see it.

The trailer certainly does a good job of misdirecting the audience. A rare thing these days.

I just wanted to add that someone who worked on this movie enjoys a bit of anime.

I don't know was I just in the right frame of mind for it, but I kind of enjoyed the weird magical realism of it. I do think it's one of his weaker ones, but tbh I still think about a weak Jordan Peele movie a lot more than a strong most-other-current-directors-movies, and that counts for something.

The things I think about with Us are

1) where the feth did they get clothes?

2) who the feth cut their hair?

3) how did they not die of malnutrition eating only rabbits or miming eating nothing?

4) how did the entire population of the USA not decimate the rabbit population in those tunnels?

5) what the hell did the rabbits eat?
