So I'm building my Catapractii from Age of Darkness as a squad of 10 with Lightning claws. I'm considering throwing some chainfists in there for armor, what would be a good number?

Edit: Nevermind, going with 3.

I went with 6 power fists, 2 chain fists and 2 power swords with combi-bolters on everyone for my unit because it gives a couple ablative models and good punch. For Lighting Claws (for my second unit I'm just going to go for 10 LC and a Grenade Harness. I'd rather through Cataphractii LC into units like Tacticals and maximizing the attacks to clear them in a single round of combat helps because Cataphractii can't sweep.

If you've got the points to spare, consider Headsman's Axes for your sergeants. S8, AP3, Breaching(6), swinging at Initiative can be pretty nasty in a challenge.

AP3 isn't going to get far against most things issuing challenges, even with Breaching (6). Thunder Hammer and hope you survive, because when you swing with that you obliterate whatever you hit.

I've seen some people talk about giving one to Apothecaries they attach to units to mulch into squads while the sergeant tanks the challenge.

That words for normal squads, but Apothecaries can't be attached to Terminator Squads

Excellent point. I've been looking at Swift Blade too much and that slipped past me.

You can however take a consul apothecary in terminator armor, not sure though of you can give him said axe though, to slap in.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Swift Blade looks fun. Right now Im still focusing on Terror Assault and some generic lists for ZM.

True and you can take the Ax, they don't have a limit on taking two handed weapons.
