judgment tokens really are just too good. if they wanted it implemented as is there needs to be a cost associated to it. i get they hate a unit so shoot more at it, maybe more concentrating on it but less on their surroundings.

my solution

any unit shooting at a unit with a judgment token/s pays a price as below

1 token - loses cover save
2 tokens - no cover and +1 to hit that unit
3 tokens - no cover, +1 to hit and +1 to wound

if you did this what would you do with scanners, because no one would take the scanners

not all upgrades/strats/equipment is useful to all armies and situations. plenty of relics, traits, strats and unit abilities in my ork codex that are useless against some armies. think our choppas finally getting back ap-1 and now armor of contempt just flat out ignoring it.

I find it hard to consider how I would even create a strategy against a LoV player (I play Custodes). Even IF I can get my telemon into melee range with their tank, I'm still not gonna kill it out right, and there is an extremely good chance he deletes me if he looks at me funny.

The only thing in my entire faction that can reliably handle a T9 platform is either a gimmicky 1 shot launcher on a Termy captain, or a Telemon. I'm not bringing out the Ares, as that would be silly.

But honestly, did GW consider what unleashing a T9 platform on current 40k would do to factions that are mired in a world where the max is T8?

There's been T9 since at least the Chaos Daemons book, and it hasn't seemed to have been that big of a deal.

As transports with Knight blasting Railguns? I mean, sure, some of the silly FW stuff. But in general meta?

They haven't popped up much yet, but chaos landraiders are AoC 2+ save with Toughness 9 now, and come in at 265 pts.

Wild to me that it wasn't a big knight or Baneblade chassis that was T9.

The Land Fortress isn't really the first T9-model in 40k though is it?
It will also only be T9 in the URSR League, and while that Custom isn't bad at all, it probably won't be nearly as common as the Greater Thurian League or the Ymyr League.
(And the Ymyr variants, while "only" T8, will pack a 4++ instead, which I'd probaly pick over +1T in most scenarios.)

The army having built in AoC makes the 4++ less relevant

Depends on your meta I suppose.

My main opponent currently is 'nids with Tyrannofexes and Shardgullet, so the +1T doesn't matter but the 4++ does.

On stuff which is melee or has bad guns like land raiders it has a much less of an impact. Impulsors can have an inv save, they didn't make the game broken the way option for other armies did.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

Pretty sweeping nerfs. You are probably up 300-400 points from where you were before. That's quite a lot to cut.

Possibly a bit of an overreaction for something never used in anger - but I guess we'll have to see.

In practice, this means it’s not always clear what kind of competitive environment a new book will drop into. In this instance, the army was tested against other recent books like Aeldari and Tyranids – many of which have seen their own increases in points and rules adjustments since their release to align with the wider game.

Looks I was at least partialy right. LoV are a at worse a second half of 9th ed designed codex. They are balanced vs books like it. So just like all other books from the same batch it will bring same kind of problems. Which probably means that for the game it would be better, if GW made a half edition update book for old books, then try to nerf down books that came out later or even were ment for the next edition.

It has seen mass testing since the whole codex leak, and some people for sure had the rules much sooner then the general public. It is also a very few units army, so there isn't that much things to test to be honest. It maybe important for the people that care what ever their army build is 64% or 67% win rate, but not the general public.

Well they got a faq today, auto wounds dont count as 6's anymore for thier ability. Without referring to the codex thier points changed as well. Any thoughts on how this effects them?

Land raider is T9 right now.

And honestly, we need to break that dumb "T8 Max" rule

i don't disagree but I am going to besuper annoyed when most titans move past T8 and they leave the stompa and custom stompa at T8 because "orks" and still give it a points increase anyway
