Hi everyone, let me know if this is the wrong sub but Is there any foreseeable issues with using the dark angels rules to represent minotaurs on the table-top? Just feel the ravenwing/deathwing combo is more in line with the fluff than generic SM codex rules.

Thanks

Do you pay points for everything, and make clear to your opponent what rules you’re using?
If yes, I see no issues.

How is Ravenwing/Deathwing more in line with the background of the Minotaurs?

Does somebody just want Transhuman?

You COULD do the mini Transhuman and go the Stalwart + Hungry for Battle route, but I get the appeal of a bodyguard for Asterion that just lives longer. However, I don't think Asterion gets it just because he wears Terminator Armor does he?

Paint doesn't affect rules.

What he wants or doesn't want isn't relevant. What do rules tell?

I mean to be honest, the minos make use of a LOT of terminator armour for their first company, which is where the initial comparison was made, then the fact that they employ fast hard hitting strikes made me think of bikes but what really sold me was their love for cqc which combined with the terminator love screamed Deathwing Knights to me.

And of course from a tabletop perspective all DA specific rules would be clarified before the game and consistent, no swapping back to the SM codex for beneficial things

Outside of a handful of official Games Worshop tournaments, you can paint your minis as whatever chapter you like and it will not affect the rules.

8930 points 6800 points 75 points 600 points
2810 points 5740 points 2650 points 3275 points
55 points 640 points 1840 points 435 points
2990 points 700 points 2235 points 1935 points
3460 points 1595 points 2480 points 2895 points

Rules tell that the FW Chapters and Characters aren't relegated to using specific Successor rules. Instead they gave recommended Traits. So you can go all out with Minotaurs as a Dark Angels successor.
