Hello. I am teaching my wife how to play B5 A Call to Arms 2nd edition. On the off chance that people on here still play this, I had a question. The double damage rule is quoted as follows:
Double Damage: Weapons of awesome destructive power, they will literally double all Damage dealt to a target, including the bonus damage caused by critical hits. In addition, they will still inflict one point of Damage if they roll a Bulkhead Hit on the Damage Table.
When last I played (some 15 years ago), I remember doubling both Crew and Damage, and the first edition rulebook specified both Crew and Damage for double damage. So is Crew not supposed to be doubled with double damage weapons only the Damage, or am I missing something that specifies both Damage and Crew are types of damage for this?

I always play double damage on crew and hull. Will have a gander at the riles when I finish work.

We always played that it affected both but that it does not do crew damage on a Bulkhead hit

Having reread the rules for attacking and weapon traits it does not clarify anywhere further than what you have posted (checked in P&P as well). Makes sense to double both though as both are types of damage and if you are missing large chunks of the ship then it follows that the squishy organics inside would not survive the experience.
Have fun teaching your wife the best minis game ever made! Which factions are you playing?

Thank you for checking on that, I agree with both of you that it does make the most sense to double both.
My wife is playing as the Narn, as she feels they are the most like her 40k orks in feel. So I will naturally be playing as the Centauri for the time being. She has been enjoying the game so far, The next step is for her to build her own fleet list instead of using one I made for her. How is the Powers and Principalities book? I was graduating from grad school at the time it came out so I never managed to pick it up.

Let the Lion of the Galaxy roar!
Powers and Princapalities is pretty good - adds some ships, updates quite a few and special rules/scenarios (although don't use the Centauri Hunting Pack rule of the Gaim as written) - Space Stations are quite fun and add some extra stuff to campaigns

Your wife has good taste, the Narn rock...
P&P is pretty cool, there is at least a new ship and rule per faction (sometimes more), it also includes;
Gaim rules.
Army of Light rules.
Multi option raider rules.
Multi option station rules.
Rules rebalancing including a redesigned Fleet Allocation point table and forced squadroning rules for tiny ships.
Optional rules like fires and different beam rules (like the excellent Burgers Beam rule).
New scenarios.
New Admirals.
Tournament rules.
