Love the in-game shots. Glad it went well and you enjoyed playing. Looking forward to more Marines. The Dreadnought is quite menacing in the red and black.

Thanks youwashock appreciate it. Think I'll be focusing on the leviathan SM half until I've got the SM combat patrol built and painted.

Aaand on the subject of that, started assembling the Bois.
Firstly push fit is weird.
Great, but just so strange when you've been gluing stuff together the rest of the time. Makes it very rewarding making these guys as they are together pretty much immediately. Going to try and get some little conversions going on throughout the army. Just my take on the leviathan models but hopefully so fun stuff as I'm going through (Thinking converting all the stem guard to combi melta and magnetising the Dreadnought for example)

Anyway, Thanks for looking comments and feedback always appreciated

Just painting what takes my fancy getting some block colours in on the librarian. Going to go for a blood magic type of feel with a red wash over the white runes, hand, skulls ect with a red power axe as well.

Some WIP's pics, just following my hobby butterflie atm and painting/making w/e takes my fancy (which is quite nice after kinda forcing myself to try and make the deadline of the tournament for my 1000pts painted).
Thought id experiment with purple for the librarians glowing runes and hate it. Going to redo it and go with the original plan of glowing red.
Got a decent amount done on the termi captain, going for a black templar'y crusader vibe atm. Undecided about red cape or not and also whether to have these guys on snow bases or not? Think I'm leaning towards it but not quite yet decided.
Aaanyway, thanks for looking, comments and feedback always appreciated

Thanks youwashock, it's kind of aggressive looking, very happy with how it's coming along.

And on the subject of that, got some better wip pics of the captain and librarian.

Happy with how the captains coming along. Going to rehighlight the cape up to a reasonable bright red and then think about chapter markings on the shoulder pads. But overall he's pretty close.

Considering how annoyed I was with how the librarian was going, I'm very happy with it now. Tried the wash for the run effect and it didn't really work so went back and redid it with regular khorne red and imo worked really effectively. Still plenty of highlights to go but very happy with how the blues and reds are turning out so far. Want something a lot more menacing then the box art which I think I'm on track for.

Also,

Asterion Moloc's spear is sooo snap able I'm experimenting with greenstuff'ing it together. Obvs got to repaint over and clear up a bit but just wanted to get a shot of these guys together.
Moloc is a relatively big terni of the old gen and is absolutely dwarfed by the new captain. Super cool, think it might even be enough to make me want to make the termies next

As usual guys, thanks for looking comments and feedback always appreciated

Think these guys are done for now. Not sure what I'll be painting next but I'm gravitating towards something AOS. Been a bit of a grind to try and paint 3 characters at once so maybe something a bit more chill. Aaaanyway

Hello all, getting ready for some more Dives into 10th using both my new and old SM armies. Either way sniper scouts are pretty appealing for both so repainting an old group I had from an old nova marine army in as neutral scheme as possible. Going for a realistic sniper operative scheme rather then a chapter specific one so mostly darker colours for the uniforms and camo themes for the cloaks.

Another 3 to go
Thanks for looking, comments and feedback always appreciated

So sniper scouts 90%, would be happy to use them in games so not sure I'll go too much further from here.
Not sure what to do next but thinking:

1)flammersx3
2)D.ogre bases
3) Ungors, base
4) some Leviathan SM
5) black D.ogres

Very satisfying to tick things off the list and get them completed but the new and shiny thing always draws more attention that the last new and shiny thing. Been wanting to pick up Belakor for ages and did actually buy and order one for the tournament it just never turned up so got refunded. Still would be great to have for both my 40k Daemons as a centerpiece and to really bring the army together on the tabletop + as an allie to BOC in AOS, would be great to have for both dragon ogres and BOC as a quick versatile threat. Just feels a bit weird to pick up yet another project when I've got plenty to be working on, and counter to my actions I'm not a fan of having so much on the hobby back burner. Either way just sharing my musings and sure something completely different will pop up in the mean time.

current hobby backlog after that is (not in this order):
B.O.C:
*herdstone, paint, final bits
*Dragon ogres:
-purp bases
-red bases
-black, full paint
*B.o.c:

Quick WIP, Sticking to the plan so far , think I'm going to try and get the leviathan box set made up asap and start playing some games with it.
Know a lot of nids players who would be up for combat patrol or 1000pts games. May even overlook the fact that everything will only be base coated.

Also got some games tonight, 1000pts 40k Aeldari vs Daemons, looking foward to playing the most OP faction atm. Have done my homework and am hoping it pays off to pull off an upset
Fingers crossed
Thanks for looking.

Shadows decend and storms erupt as two rival warhosts seek the souls and skulls of the Aeldari. Karanak and it's hunt sent by khorne to take the head of the elusive chapion karandra's. The Infernal Enrapturess'es court sent by Slaanesh to torture and delight in the suffering souls of a dieing race.

-
Joining the fray, nurgle sends his most gleeful emissarys to bless the Aeldari with their foul gifts.

-
Caught off guard by the speed at which the Daemons close the Aeldari become embattled in fierce close quarters fighting on all fronts.

-
Desperate battles ensue as Aeldari are cut down, souls devoured and skulls sacrificed by the hated foes.
Karanak and his Hounds throw themselfs against their prey attempting to strike down karandra's. His scorpions sacrifices keeps him alive as he remains just out of reach of the baying Jaws and savage claws of the beasts.

-
All the while, Nurglings swarm the ancient war constructs, blessing them in filth as the Aeldari struggle to hit the tiny Daemons clambering over them.

-
Karandra's take his revenge to the hounds killing all but Karanak. Predator and prey circle, but as the fates change who can surely say which is which.

-
The wayleaper charges the distracted Seekers, slaying two in a flurry of strikes.
Karandra's and Karanak fight viciously as both champions struggle to gain the upper hand. The Fighting so fierce it draws the gaze of khorne itself before the shadow warrior lands the killing blow, banishing khornes champion.

-
Warp storms erupt over head as more khorne and slaanesh daemons tear into the material plane. Charging into the ranks of the remaining war constructs the Aeldari fight with wild abandon to avenge their fallen kin and save their souls from damnation.

-
Attempting to avenge the souls of the fallen Warp spiders burst from the empyrean targeting the soul stealing Enrapturess, slicing it and it's bodyguard to pieces with their death spinners.

-
The victory however is brief, the Enrapturess banished but her court carry on claiming the soul of the ancient wraith lord.
The Wraith guard fall back from the Bloodletters blades only to be trampled underfoot by the charges of fiends and juggernauts.

-
The wayleaper, struck down by the seeker champion rises again and from the ashes obliterates the remaining seeker. Yet
Bloodletters drawn by the mighty champions display, charge, cutting down the hero and collecting yet another skull for the throne.

-
The warp spiders realising that their intervention has come too late attempt to flee but with the warp storm in full effect around them find themselfs trapped. Daemons pour into the material realm and the servants of she who thirsts take the final prize.

-
Karandra's the only survivor slips into the shadows knowing the battle to be lost, awaiting the opportunity to avenge the souls of his fallen brethren.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
So, had an excellent game yesterday against a very cool and we'll painted Aeldari force. Both of us are both very new to 10th (as is everyone atm ) and I was quite worried about playing the most dangerous faction in the game but was a really fun game in the end. Lots of twists and turns and plenty of story telling moments,
My favourite being a 40pts unit of Nurglings managing to survive and stall a 235pt unit of wraithguard+spirit seer for at least 2 turns and even wounding 1 of them
Definitely going to have to make an addition to the base or something to commemorate the mighty Nurgling. Overall same as all my experiences of 10th so far, learnt loads as did my opponent and both had a much better idea by the end of it of how we would do it differently when we play our next game.
Looking foward to the rematch and hope we get to see an epic counter of karandra's revenge/soul rescue force.

The Crucifier's (can never resist an army shot)

So the leviathan dude ares coming together.
Let my hobby butterfly run loose and ended my making the Ballistus first (always loved dreads) and then the infurnus marines next. Next thing will be the Terminators so I can start getting some combat patrol games in to fuel the motivation for the new force.
Did a leg swap on the dead as well, will get clearer pics when painting but swapped the legs for the standard push fit dread and vice versa. Think both legs suit the new models a lot better. Also thinking I'm going to add a bunch more battle damage onto the standard marines and war engines. Since the scheme is so simple think it will add a nice bit a character to have a bit of scarring throughout the force.

So got the Termi's finished, swapped/changed every models arms and head position, much happier with this set up. Felt a bit weird that the Sargent in particular would have such a static pose considering his loadout.

Next step basing and then painting. Not sure what I'll start with painting wise but probs best to base everything and then decide from there.

Thanks for looking

So, based and sprayed all the combat patrol stuff + the Bastilus and Redemptor dreads. Was reasonably happy with the Redemptors original paint job but just wanted another crack at improving it again. Painted it about 4 years ago as a tester for the army and feel like i've improved a bunch since then so quite nice to revisit it.

Got a bunch of the base colours down so far and really happy with the leg swap and additional chains and skulls now its getting some paint on it. It got a real underlying sense of violence, dread, aggression that i'm quite happy with and would really like to keep as the model progresses. Also really looking forward to getting the snow on this guys base as i think its going to really bring the scheme together (similar to the T.Captain).

Still haven't decided on the chapter iconography though. Im really keen on the concept of the "Crucifiers" as the chapters name and i like the idea that each of the recruits would have had to endure some crucifixion based trial to enter the chapter, but cant decide between a Red cross or a bloodied hand for the chapter symbol. Id be happy to have both as part of the iconography of the chapter but just not sure what should take president as the chapters icon.
The cross would be easier to paint and a lot less intimidating, but maybe is a bit simple and could be confused with the death company.
in comparison to the hand open palm, which whilst cool and different, requires consistency.
I have also tried out the hand and am not totally sold on it in its previous dread or Primaris iterations feeling if i was going to go with this i would want a little bit more from it to really make it pop.

So have decided to dip my toe into playing my Minotaur Marine force for the first time in 10th and 1st time in general in maybe 4 years? Game booked in for Friday vs Necrons, 1000pts playing supply lines and looking foward to it.

Just messing around with lists but thinking I'm going to go:

*Captain in Terminator Armour: 1 model ....95 pts (relic shield, relic blade)
*Terminator Squad: 5 models ....205 pts (1XAC)
*Sternguard Veteran Squad: 5 models ....105 pts (5xCW, 1xTH, 1xHB)
*Sternguard Veteran Squad: 5 models ....105 pts (1XPS, 1xHB )
*Scout Sniper Squad:5 models ....75 pts
*Ballistus Dreadnought: 1 model ....170 pts
*Devastator Squad: 10 models ....200 pts (4xML)
Total: 955
Again first time making a marine list in 10th and 1st time doing a predominantly shooting army in a long while (have had shooty ork and tyranid armys but not since 4th/5th ed).

General consensus to those out there playing 10th, how's this looking?
Missing anything super important in 10th or any units that people don't really rate highly?
Have tried to pick things that I have painted and perform reasonable well on the tabletop (in theory ).
(list of the models I've got and could use/swap in)
Spoiler:
HQ: 620pts

Captain: 1 model....80 pts (1xCombi W, 1xPS)

Captain in Terminator Armour: 1 model ....95 pts (1xSb, 1x relic blade)

Captain in Terminator Armour: 1 model ....95 pts (relic shield, relic blade)

Chaplain: 1 model ....70 pts (1xPF)

Chaplain in Terminator Armour: 1 model ....90 pts

Librarian in Terminator Armour: 1 model ....90 pts

Lieutenant with Combi-weapon: 1 model ....80 pts

Darnath Lysander: 1 model ....115 pts
Dreadnought: 1 model ....160 pts

Redemptor Dreadnought: 1 model ....225 pts

Sternguard Veteran Squad: 5 models ....105 pts (5xCW, 1xTH)

Sternguard Veteran Squad: 5 models ....105 pts (1xPS)

Sternguard Veteran Squad: 5 models ....105 pts (2xCombi.w, 1xHb)

Terminator Assault Squad: 5 models ....200 pts (3xTH, 2xLC)

Terminator Squad: (1) 10 models ....410 pts (2x HF)

Terminator Squad: (2) 10 models ....410 pts (1x AC, 1xCML)

Terminator Squad: (3) 5 models ....205 pts (1x AC)
Troops: 605pts

Scout Sniper Squad:5 models ....75 pts

Tactical Squad: 10 models ....175 pts (1xLc, 1xF)

Tactical Squad: 10 models ....175 pts (1xPg, 1xMl, 1xPp)

Infernus Squad: 5 models ....90 pts/ 10 models ....180 pts
Heavy Support: 680pts

Devastator Squad: 10 models ....200 pts (4xHB)

Devastator Squad: 10 models ....200 pts (4xML)

Land Raider: 1 model ....275 pts

Vindicator: 1 model ....205 pts

= 4260pts

Apart from that cracking on with the Crucifier's still chipping away at the dread trying to get that finished before I move onto the infurnus marines probably?
Aaaanyway, thanks for looking comments and feedback much appreciated.

Orphean War: The Battle of Amarah: New Vassburg Hive city, 991.M41 -
"Striking suddenly and essentially without warning, the Necron forces of the sector struck not a single Imperial world but scores of planets and outposts, conducting total genocide of the local populace wherever they struck. The Adeptus Mechanicus world of Harrow Watch and the Frontier Worlds of Pallasite, Khatris, and Borrus had their populations erased seemingly instantly. The Necrons, reaching the Imperial world of Amarah, encountered their first real resistance. Imperial forces were waiting with 2 million guardsmen of the Death Korps of Krieg under command of Marshal Karis Venner and several Space Marine Chapters including the entirety of the Minotaurs chapter."

The battle for New Vassburg hive city was brutal and intense with Chapter Master Asterion Moloc himself playing a key role in the Defence of the hive city - if this city is to fall, it could spell doom not just for this world but for the whole sector.

Devastators lay down punishing salvo's of fire blasting into the lines of the Necron warriors. The ancient technologies of the Necrons, however, proves too great to be defeated by such primitive weapons, with warriors reanimation protocols reforming them faster than the marines can blast them apart.

The Necrons return fire, unleashing Doomblasters on the devastators, atomizing 7 marines in an instant. Destroyers bring their Heavy Gauss Cannons to bear upon the Marine Dreadnought causing immediate critical damage to the war machine.

Warriors from the 1st and scout companies synchronise their attacks against the approaching Necron line, attempting to kill the enemy's leader, the Necron overlord.

Fallen Necrons rise again as the larger constructs re-knit fresh wounds with living metal. For every wound the Minotaurs cause, two more are healed in its place, and so the tide of the undead warriors threatens to overwhelm the Minotaurs line.

The Detroyers claim their prize and green light strikes across the battlefield, annihilating the Ballistus Dreadnaught. The ensuring explosion only narrowly avoiding the surrounding Sternguard Veterans.

Just as the battle seems lost, the scout marines activate the teleport homer. Terminators from the 1st company arrive onto the field, lead by none other than Chapter Master Asterion Moloc. The Minotaurs, reinvigorated by the presence of the chapter master, unleash hell upon the Necrons. Hundreds of bolter shells blast the living metal constructs to specks of scrap in a matter of seconds. Every enemy warrior is blasted to pieces but the Overlord remains, his body already re-knitting together, continuing to refuse to die. The Sternguard of the 1st company charge the Xenos lord as Moloc leads the counter attack against the remaining war constructs of the Necron force.

The surviving Devastators lay down covering fire, drawing the attention of the Doom stalker before Moloc and his honor guard can finish off the towering automaton.

As Moloc and his retinue bring down the Doom stalker, the Overlords blade cleaves through the final Sternguard. Hexmark destroyer opens fire on Moloc as the remaining Minotaurs attempt to take down the Necron lord.

Each of the army's generals appear briefly to mirror each other as they charge into the ranks of the opposing force. The Necron lord seeks to finish off the remaining sternguard as the Chapter Master attempts to bring his Black Spear to bare against the lone Hexmark.

This however is a trap. As soon as the overlord is within range, the Sternguard withdraw and reengage, positioning to reinforce their approaching lord and destroy the remaining Necron re-animator.

Furious, The Overlords vision becomes momentarily blurred as feeling rushes through his body for the first time in millennial. An echo of eons-old-emotions begin to stir in his ancient mind as he feels sensation of blood boiling in his material body. Pure hate coursing through him, he finds himself charging the impetuous Sternguard, slicing them into atoms in a bloody rage for the audacity of attempting to deceive him.

At this moment, gore soaked and distracted by the growing effects of the destroyer virus, the overlord feels the bite of Moloc's spear in his back, seeing it burst through his chest cavity, and it lays the lord low.

This is not the first time though that the Overlord has tasted death. Reanimation protocols activate immediately, and in the blink of an eye Temporary dimensional shielding flickers into being and the Overlord's living metal reforms. His own spear thrusts in revenge against Moloc's, disintergrating the remaining terminator and leaving only Moloc and the Overlord remaining standing.

The two remaining warriors attack, each landing blows capable of leveling tanks but both failing to wound each other. Each warrior in antithesis to each other and the rest of their species; one an unliving Necron attacking with fury and an unquenchable lust for blood, the other a once-human warrior, silent as the machine in its calculated and unemotional strikes. The duel last minutes, each Lord finally wounding the other and bringing to bare the full might of each races martial potential. But finally a champion is laid low...
Spoiler:

Victory for the Imperium! The cold calculating Moloc impails the Necron lord before using his black spear's laser to blast through and finally destroying the ancient evil.

Another great game, very narrow victory in the end with some awesome moments throughout, looking forward to the next.

Thanks youwashock, one of my favourite hobby things getting army shots once you've got it together. Was so motivated by the last game as well I revisited the Termi's, put another wash on them and a rehighlight, think it's done them wonders. Messing around with running 10x in my next 1000pt list (pic above) with a Chaplin leading. Have 30+ Termi's from various editions too so would be cool at some point to play an all Terminator list for 2000pts, recreate the last stand on the battle of maccragge or something silly

In other news,
Been working on the infurnus marines for the leviathan combat patrol box. Just finished the test model yesterday and very happy with the results.

Alot happier with the chipping of the armour on this guy although still have to decide on the chapter emblem. Aaand first time I've tried to get that heated barrel distortion effect on a model, think it's turned out quite well.

Also,

Got the basing done of the Legion of the Dammed dudes. Think I'll mostly be running these guys as poxy Sterngaurd in my Crucifier's army but potentially as a bunch of things (thousand sons proxys for my daemon allys maybe, standard tac Squad? Who knows) think the spooky snowy bases kind of keeps it most open. Even if I'm playing them in my Minotaurs army Im fond of the idea anything from the warp kind of brings it's warp weather with it, therefor doesn't matter so much is the basing for the army doesn't quite match up.

Annyway, that's it for now. Going to carry on cracking on with my infurnus marines hopefully getting the 5 done relatively soon and then it's just the Termi's left and I'll have a fully painted combat patrol
Until then, thanks for looking, comments and feedback much appreciated

Thanks Gobert, going to be a theme through the army, just makes them a little different to the 1000000 other leviathan SM armys knocking around

Quick update, picked up another 2 intercessors to add to my test models to make a cheap extra Squad. Also finished another 2 infurnus.

Really looking foward to getting the combat patrol done and moving back to some Daemons or D.ogres. Have signed up to a combat patrol tournament next week and have only got the 5 Terminators and 2 infurnus left to finish. Very glad I picked such a simple scheme though, apart from the fiddly'ness it does come together quickly.

Thanks Gobert, funnily enough I'm just getting ready for the next one. Still got the Termies to do but on the back burner for now as I focus on some Daemon stuff.

So, signed up for a slow grow 40k campaign, mostly narrative focused, growing from:
500pts >1000pts >1500pts > 2000pts
Got to keep the same previous list and add to it as you go so I'm thinking the pic above will be the the first 500pts.

+Changling:75 (proxy'ing as the hound)
*Karanak: 85
*Flesh Hounds x5:70
*Flamers x3: 65
-Flamers x3: 65
*Seekersx5:95
*Nurglingsx3:40
-495pts-
Going for a bunch of speedy units for the first month, grabbing objectives and long charges being the goal.
After that I've picked up Belakor and the Nurglings, still got to paint them up, got the skullcrushers ready to go though.

+Belakor:325
*skull crushers:120
+Nurglings:40
-1000pts-

Post that, im not super sure but thinking about the lord of Change next? Something like this:

+lord of Change:255
(everstave)
-pink horrorsx10:140
+skull master:105
-1500-

Next things on the today list:
1)finish 1x painted Flamers
2)fully finish 3x Flamers
3)make + paint changling counts as?
4)fully paint Belakor
5)fully finish 3x Nurglings

That's all for now, thanks for looking, comment's and feedback much appreciated 👍

So just played a cheeky bit of home hammer, testing out my Daemons for the upcoming slow grow (new points) got wrecked.

Definitely need to rethink what's going on with the army. Had really trouble against the dreadnought reliably damaging it and because for the 1st month of the slow grow there are restrictions on Deepstrike a lot of my vulnerable units (all of them) were stuck in the open getting blasted. Going to look at some swaps see what I can do.
That said the changeling worked quite well, stopping a infurnus Squad from shooting and giving -1 to hit on the dread.
Plenty of tweaks incoming thanks for looking

Thanks Tommy much appreciated, im going to be playing mine as Sternguard with the heavy flamers as pyrecannons, just nice to get the models on the table.

Big update as i havent been daka'ing for a while
First off i got myself a Belakor

Came fully assembled and red, so deconstructed it and wanted to try out magnatising the wings and the base for easier storage.

Magnatising to the base worked out great but couldnt get the wings to work with the magnets i had available at the time (of course once i had glued and green stuffed them back on i found another box of bigger magnets that might have done the trick ).
Got him base coated as well and i think thats as far as im going to be going with him for a while. Waiting on another daemon prince to arrive for use in the slow grow and have many other units that still need to be finished off pre slow grow.

I also got a bunch of other stuff base coated including my Horrors Flamers and Nurglings.

Have started the test scheme on the Horrors as well, emperors children base, berserker red wash, emperors children highlight. Need to add a fullgrim pink highlight over the tip and then think they will be battle ready.

+ started work on a changling sculpt, mostly because the model isn't available anywhere but also just for a bit a of fun and to mess around with techniques i wouldnt usually use.

think my take on the model is going ot be a lot darker then the Changling is currently dipicted in the lore, more grimdark horror b=vibes is what i think im going for atm.

And finally,

came across some boxes in a big sort containing a bunch of classic warhammer models, mostly Bretonians but some lizardmen and wood elves mixed in too. As well as finding a small ork force. It was originally my younger brothers dabble into 40k before he decided that it wasnt for him.
for both thinking ill either paint them up at some point in the future or just sell them on to fuel the purchase of more greater Daemons .

and thats all for now folks. Next on the todo list is to get these horrors painted, then onto the Nurglings and finally the other Daemon prince when that arrives.
As always thanks for looking and comments and feedback much appreciated

Success! Daemon prince arrived and the magnetization worked. Now have my first (imo) properly magnatised model sooo cool.

Haven't decided if I'm going to go crazy yet and magnatise all of the head options but very happy with how the wings and backpack are working for now

So, I've been thinking about how to best represent a Daemon prince that can be swapped between the 4 god markings as convenient when playing. My first thought was magnatising each of the 4 heads and being able to swap between them, that said once I'd started the process I became less keen. I then came accross a great pic posted on a feed, someone posting a pic of their first painted models. They'd gone with noise marines and had chosen to paint each of the limbs different colours to help represent this. I really connected with this and looking more at my Daemon prince thought it would be a great idea to have his weapons and armour contain the bound souls of Daemons of the 4 greater gods. This fluff wise translating to the daemon prince binding the Daemons to use their traits to further the princes own dark goals, in game terms the mark he represents on the table is just the most convenient mark at the time allowing easy and explainable swaps.

I was also in part inspired by the sons of malice and the fluff behind the retconned 5th chaos god. Going to paint my Prince as an ascended Son of malice, building up the fluff as I use him in the slow grow campaign build him into a real focal point for the army.
