How is Dante the lost child? He's one of the oldest space marines in current lore, and essentially warden of the north in the imperium and very active. Nothing seems too lost about that to me?

Because the Young Warrior card definitely portrays Farsight, yet he is definitely not young. Stop taking the card titles so literally when the description reveals way more about the card's meaning.

Dante is the lost child because he is the child of Sanguinius and he's the regent of the Imperium Nihilus.

The Description of the card reads - "And here; a fatherless son, alone in the endless night..."

Something something Imperium Nihilus, crossing the Rubicon, everything that is old is young again, etc.

I guess it depends when Dante is coming out. If he's the big character of the last Arks of Omen book, it seems unlikely they'll go "oh and btw there's also this guy called the Lion".

Not impossible clearly - but feels like you would be getting upstaged.

Symbolism is everything. Alot more goes into the design than people think. cannot go off one and not the other. I could be Dante, but it also could not.
Remember the Ruinstorm book, talks about just how much symbolism matters, espetially when it comes to chaos.

Some of the rumourmongers said that Dante's model had been ready for years, at least since 2019, and been held back. In that case, i don't think that he'll be the 'big reveal' of the 5th AoO book, mostly because that would be a bit much of an effort for a character of this scale. He's important and well-known, but not that important. My bet is that Dante will play either an important side-character bit, or be the main character in 'book' VI, that serialized WD thing: he seems to be the ideal character to wrap up the disparate story lines as the regent of the Imperium Nihilus, thanklessly picking up the pieces again while the bigshots go around and punch demigods in the face and stuff like that.

This is the tragic Dante story I can see happening. Dante is the punching bag of the Astartes. Everything about Dante is tragic. (in the best way, I find it engaging). But yes Lion returns book V. They do their stuff, big battle etc etc. Dante left to clean up mess.

Apparently the Dante leak happened because someone ordered the Dante model of the GW website and they sent the new model by mistake. Sounds like nonsense.

I expect that when the lion returns he will end up being the most senior person in the dark imperium and Dante will take a step down, possibly be less senior than Azreal. Maybe this is how he will feel lost

It sounds like a convenient cover story that you could hardly disprove without having access to GW-internal data

It also implies that there are finished Commander Dante single-model boxes sitting around ready for shipping, i.e. that the model would be available on its own and not just as part of a boarding patrol or other boxed set immediately, which is in itself an interesting information because e.g. Vashtorr and Azrael were not.

Money, workshop know people want Azrael and Vashtorr. So why not milk it for all you can in a special box before making them sold seperate and then getitng more again then. It's just marketing.

I dont think there is a larger plot there for thta. It's just simply workshop being their business side getitng monies. Which tbf is what I would expect of any business.

Yeah, thats fair, Perosnally I think the Vashtorr and Azrael stand alone boxes will be there too. I've had experience in seeing how early stuff comes in (not for workshop but other industries that have product releases). So I imagine there are Az and Vashtorr boxes too stand alone.

Just one staff member just either inexperienced or having a bad day made a mistake.

Yes... And?

I'm not ignoring the symbolism for this card. I'm telling that people take the symbolism of the title too literally and that the symbolism also lies in the description of it. Because of the description and the design of the card, you can glimpse what the meaning is of the title.

For example; The Great Hoste card wouldn't be associated with the World Eaters, if it didn't have the Wolf-heads in its design, together with the description of "a blood-red tithe of singing blades".

Also, thanks to the Dante video released just now, might I add another piece of evidence to the Dante hypothesis.

Doesn't that look like Dante being cradled like a "child" by his Genefather?

The Warhammer community update suggests, rather sarcastically, that they were not planning on announcing this model until adepticon

It reminds me of how sometimes titles or labels can be more about the bigger picture than the literal meaning. Like how Farsight is referred to as a "young warrior," but obviously, he's not young at all. It’s more about their roles or the emotional journey they’re on, not their actual age or status.
