These look nice, I think our local group will be excited to both play them and face them.

Good to see them going back to almost 100% hard plastic as an army release, the twilight kin use some of the nightstalker units as well, so that should be 5 hard plastic kits at least in the army, hopefully more.

Sorry, can’t jump and read the link right now. Is the army in the new red rulebook? I mean it just came out and would be a GW move to have had the army basically done, but not in the new core rulebook. I’ve been thinking of getting the Red book, but it’s been out of stock locally, and I don’t want to order direct. Local group was considering Warhammer the old world or Kings of War.

No, not in the red book -- this new list will likely be in Clash of Kings 2023 later this summer. That is just a once / year publication with updates and the like. Then the Twilight Kin will also be added to
the free Mantic Companion.

100% agreed on the hard plastic. And as a current Nightstalker player I'm extremely excited I can merge the two a bit.

Nightstalkers get 2 new plastic kits which are shown as part of the TK range in Dungeon Saga
so not sure if the basic infantry is there as well

from the TK Renders, there is at least 1 box light armoured infantry and 1 box heavy armoured infantry

there might be 2 boxes with light infantry

Resin upgrades or 4 different units in the box won't be good as I expect more different poses for the 2 units


overall style is somehow a mix of Raging Heroes and Stargate, not bad but further away from "classic" Dark/Evil Elves than some might have expected

No, TK was left out of the new Rulebook because they are re-worked and Mantic wanted to avoid having outdated armies in the new book
New armies are usually added with a campaign book and/or CoK updates and in this case a combined CoK & Campaign book is likely (as there is only one new army announced so far)
yet the classic GW Dark Elves and 2nd Edition TK are more or less covered by the generic Elves list

if the book itself is out of stock, consider the digital version and/or a 2 player set with that book

yet if the group is willing to wait for TOW anyway (which is likely to be a end of the year book only release), KoW being currently out of stock should not be an issue too (just ask the local traders when they expect re-stock and/or if they order one for you)
also buying the 3rd Edition rulebook on sale together with the uncharted empires book is an option is the rules are still the same and changes in points/units are in free army builder anyway

Basically here to advertise their kickstarter, telling what they've done so far and a few words for what may come later (engaging only those who believe them).

They do basically what GW does, only cheaper.

Since DS miniatures are with round bases, they're obviously not those that will come for KoW. And given the small glimpse of background they wrote, not even sure all of them will be translated in KoW units ("neophytes are rarely seen on the battlefield" => either a very rare unit fit for resin only, or not even there at all : don't think it will be part of a core plastic hip box).

Basically wait and see and don't forget to pledge for the awesome DS Origin KS, quick it's soon going to end !

Yes, the renders look good, I'm just waiting for the final product result to see if the miniatures will truly look that well in the end.

I'm not super thrilled about them adding two new Nightstalker units immediately after selling me a "everything in one book" book.

Is there a release date for the new Nightstalker stuff yet?

for now the new options in the kits are not said to be in the nightstalker army, might just be options for TK later
