Context:
The Command Squad (Platoon Command Squad or Cadian) can attach to the various flavors of Guard Infantry Squads.

Guard Infantry Squads have the following to say about this:
Datasheet wrote:This unit can have up to two Leader units attached to it,
provided no more than one of those units is a Command
Squad unit. If it does, and this Bodyguard unit is destroyed,
the Leader units attached to it become separate units, with
their original Starting Strengths.

The leader rule says attacks cannot be allocated to Character models when fired at an Attached unit.

However, in the Command Squad, only one model has the Character keyword, the rest of the Command Squad does not.

Questions:
1) can you allocate wounds to the command squad models who are not characters?
2) if so, if the command squad is destroyed except for the character, and the Infantry Squad is subsequently destroyed, do the Command Squad members resurrect? (Given the final clause of the infantry squad rule quoted above WRT "starting strengths")
3) if so, when does this occur? I.e. if a unit of 1 infantryman (from the infantry squad), 1 character, and one character from the Command Squad are the only models left in a unit, and it is wounded five times (with the first killing the infantryman), do the Command Squad members resurrect right when that infantryman is destroyed and bite the remaining 4 wounds or?

(This sort of question has other follow on questions, like enginseers and servitors, Ogryn bodyguards, Regimental attache's, etc.)

EDIT:
Solved after some local analysis with friends; it doesn't work.

1) Yes, you may allocate wounds to non-character models in the command squad. Because the rule against allocating wounds key's off character models rather than character units.
2) No, for several reasons. The Command Squad unit has not been destroyed, because the character model is still alive.
If the Command Squad were completely destroyed it does not have the Regiment keyword, so it cannot be respawned.
If the Infantry Squad was destroyed, the Command Squad would not respawn, because the unit has the character keyword. While only the officer model has the character keyword, units have all the keywords of all their models.(see rules commentary)
3) In that scenario, as stated, the command squad can't respawn. However, the infantry squad could respawn, even if the command squad lived. You play the strat the moment that last infantryman died.

No, because Starting Strength is just a fact about a unit and doesn’t normally change outside of the character/bodyguard interaction. So it only tells you to go back to their starting strength because when you joined the character to the bodyguard unit both of their starting strengths were combined.
So if you lose ever model apart from the Officer in a combined Platoon Command/Infantry Squad the Officer would become a unit of one with a Starting Strength of 5.
