Can Inquisitors join Sagittarum Custodians?

Inquisitors, including named ones are Leaders and have the following rule:

This model can be attached to the following units:
■ Imperium Battleline Infantry
■ Inquisitorial Henchmen

Custodian Guard Squads are Battleline, thus making them a valid target and have the following keywords:

Infantry, Battleline, Imperium, Custodian Guard

Sagittarum are not battleline, and have the following keywords:

Infantry, Imperium, Sagittarum Custodians

But they also have the following rule:

If a model from your army with the Leader ability can be
attached to a Custodian Guard unit, it can be attached to
this unit instead.

Since Custodian Guard are a valid target for an inquisitor to join, are the Sagittarum despite not being battleline?

By RAW, I would say yes.
Run it by your friends/TO first, though, just to make sure they’re okay with it.

No. Inquisitors do not have Custodian Guard in their list of units they can lead. The fact that Custodian Guard are Imperium Battleline Infanrty doesn’t allow you to bootstrap your way into other units that do not have the applicable keywords.

They don't have to have Custodian Guard on their list, because since Custodian Guard are Imperium Battleline Infantry they CAN join Custodian Guard. And since they can join Custodian Guard, I'm inclined (pending FAQ) to allow Inquisitors to join Sagittarum Custodians.

I’m not included to think that nesting doll leader is the intention of the designers.

They probably never thought of it in the first place.

The fact that the card says that if they can attached to a Custodian Guard unit, not a a unit with the Custodian Guard keyword lends me to think that it would be ok as an Inquisitor can join a Custodian Guard unit thanks to its special rule.

As I stated elsewhere, I'm not inclined to think that the designers intended for a Techmarine to join Servitors and then have MORE Servitors join them, but as written that's legit.

The same would hold for, say, Black Templars Sword Brethren: anyone who can join Intercessors (Imperial Battleline Infantry) can join Sword Brethren, so I have to assume an Inquisitor could join them, as well.

Besides, how many people are going to say 'no' to an Inquisitor?

Anyone who’s not Battleline

“I’m going to join you Sternguard during this battle.”
“Sorry, Mr. Inquistor, but we are too elite to run with just anyone. There is a nice unit of Intercessors over there you can join up with.”
