That is because in other games the cost of an army is lower, and the gap between the very bad over all, and very good over all is generaly smaller. All games have good and bad armies, but no can make you spend a +900$, to then inform you that in the newest edition, not only is 300$ of your stuff no longer playable, but also your faction is now a trap faction for noobs.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain. |

Nope. BREAD is the first thing people learn about drafts. You're creating an argument with no basis in fact to support what you wish was true.
In other games people aren't impressed by flashy unit cards. They play either the units they thematically appreciate or what they think is gonna win on the table.
Who's even still preaching the virtues of BREAD as a draft strategy these days? I haven't seen anybody online who does set reviews use the term in years and nobody at my local shops ever mentions it either.

It's still how you win in a limited format. Regardless, your points aren't true about how magic players or other minis gamers operate. In ASOIAF there are units with abilities that are just keyworded, not bespoke, and they see plenty of play. You enjoy that though. Or else you'd play a different game.

I have an army, so I play w40k. But I also happen, through no choice of my own, be the owner of a Lumineth Lord army. Guess which one I play more often and which is more fun ?
My views on w40k is more or less a it is what it is stance. The game doesn't change at its how it is played level. There is on the other hand a TON of changes just for changes sake. For example, 9th terrain rules were more or less perfect, in 10th GW decided to make them worse. Only two things that bother me are A how fun is my faction to play, and B how bad it is for new players to expiriance the game. Because I don't need to buy any more GK models, bought 0 in 9th ed, but if I saw a dude wanting to get in to DG right now, I would definitly ask him if he is buying a 350$ recast army or the "real" full price thing.
