Think of stuff like Indomitus, and Leviathan -
Preorder
Queueing up to buy, queueing up to pickup, etc.

Get it home, find out you're actually out of some supply - glue, paint etc.

Check both of the GW's closest to you, they're also out of Astrogranite Debris. Check the website. Even the webpage is out of Astrogranite Debris.

Kick yourself for not adding a bottle or two to your bag when you got your Leviathan:

So I'm thinking for next time I'm basing a new army - Avoid Astrogranite - AND

a generic shopping/upsell list:

Bottle of Glue.
Your base-ic Technical Paint - especially if it's Astrogranite (Debris). I think Armageddon had both the Light and the Full Calorie (extra sandy bits) versions but most of the extra-texture texture paints were out.
Maybe Greenstuff? I took the Captain off his scenic base because it's Preferred Enemy based. He almost fits without it, but some greenstuff would make it smoother to add a small hill with the right size holes for his foot pegs, and the angle of his boot bottoms.
a new S Base and S Layer brush? (Or whatever brushes work best for you) - you may already have them, but just picking up a new one of your big two at these Event Boxes might be a nice subscribe and save sort of thing

What else would you put on a list like this?

As I wait for an email from GW that Astrogranit Debris is back in stock, while fervently hoping I'll be awake when it comes in so I can order some before it's sold out again to the other people in my same spot.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

For me it's varnish. Finish painting your stuff, all happy, now it's time to apply the finishing touch and get that "task completed" feeling: pick up the rattlecan, aaaaaand it's empty.

I have a standard checklist I reference every Thur before I head to the shop.
Do I need:
Glue - ?
Zip Kicker -?
Corax white spray (or whatever I'm currently using to prime/base) - ?
Any paint that I may have run out of/found has petrified beyond salvage throughout the week.
New brush(s) - ?
Misc stuff (exacto blades, bases, magnets, foam trays, etc) - ?
Do I need anything specific for any projects - ?

If any of those answers are yes, then I go supply shopping before the gaming begins.

I thought I had my Astrogranite Debris, but apparently I don't. Or I have a box of paint around here somewhere I can't find.

I checked both nearby GW's and one of the Independents between them and no luck. Checked Amazon and no luck/out of stock there too. There's one guy on Ebay selling them for $25 a bottle...

I’m honestly terrified of varnish. I ruined some Tyranids when I was a kid with a crappy GW can of ‘purity seal’ and I’ve never used it since. Now that I’m older and try to paint every model to display standard, I don’t know if I could ever risk it again

I can't rattlecan to save my life, so I use Vallejo and an airbrush.
