I’ve had this old RT Battlewagon since the kit was released. A while ago I decided it was time to try and update it without losing what made the original design so iconic. The biggest change was a proppa engine to replace the steam boiler on the original. Then I just added more 'modern' details to match the current Orky aesthetic. It’s gone through a couple of iterations so far - at the moment it’s configured as a Trukk (intended to carry a mob of Snagga Boyz), although strictly speaking it’s too wide and too low. It still has some final details to add.

Apart from finishing the smaller details, it feels like it needs something more. What do you think?

When asking what an orc vehicle needs, is there any answer but “More Dakka!”? I guess a snazzy paintjob as well. Preferably red.

Love it!

I had one of these in my RT era Ork army, but back then I didn't/couldn't give it the paintjob that it deserverd.

BTW, are your pics supposed to be in black and white?

Sadly, as a Trukk it can't have any more dakka. If only the bolt-on Big Shoota would make a return.

I had a few others; I made the ill-advised decision to build one as a Bad Moonz vehicle, which mean painting it yellow in Humbrol enamels. It did not end well...

I made the pics B&W because it tends to look better with WiP models.

Maybe not a mast, but a big roll-bar (hung with trophies) would probably work.

Even if you don’t do a whole trophy rack thing, you should at least crush a Mk. VI beakie helm under a wheel or something as a callback to the RT era. Or a bag of gems recovered from the farm.
