Hey folks My girlfriend recently started playing Deathguard, but she loathes the Poxwalker models.. Can some of you fine folks point me in the direction of some proxies? She's looking for some kind of Cultist/plague zombie mix

Deadwalker zombies are really nice zombies models, but might require a bit of converting to bring them more into the sci-fi setting (not that pitchforks aren't a thing that can exist in the 40k universe)

?? Dont poxwalkers just have swords? If so, why would anything need be done to sci-fi any other zombie?
I agree though, just find some zombie she likes well enough - be it from GW or someone else.
They are from the ZOMBIES!!! board game. 100 girl zombies were priced at 10 Euros. You won´t get a better deal. However you still need appropriate bases.

poxwalkers have "modern" gear like labcoats, hazmat suit, wrench, robotic arm, gun (used as a club but still). Normal zombies will do just fine honestly, i was merely suggesting it as a "next level" option

That's right, I was thinking of Plaguebeares....
And if she doesn't like the walkers, she's not likely to go for the bearers.
So yeah, regular zombies of some make & model.
I am not a big fan of Mantics model range in general, but some of their offerings are pretty damn fine. Among these, I consider the infantry for their Daedzone Plague faction to be excellent Poxwalker replacements. Using Plague Zombies as Poxwalkers and Plague 3rd Gen Troopers as Nurgle Cultists could work well if you like their aesthetics.

Spoiler:
Mantic Plague Zombies:
Mantic Plague 3rd Gen Troopers:
One thing to keep in mind is that the 3rd Gen troopers are rather big, they look a bit too tall next to regular GW cultists. Otherwise they are great kits

the best replacement is one that you convert yourself.
With that said, consider greenstuff and assecoires and cheap 28mm models to her liking.
Can reccomend Wargames atlantic for cheap and size accurate.
Mantic can help.
Converting cadians may also work etc.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units." Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?" Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?" GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!" Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.
Skaven Plague Monks would be my suggestion if the poxwalkers are too gross.
"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"
For a long time if you ran Typhus with a zombie horde you had to proxy the models, I always used the standard Mantic zombies, I prefer them to the admittedly more sci fi orientated plague zombies, and work great as poxwalkers
I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples
