I hope I will have time to finish the squad this time.
Progress:
IN the case I wont be able to finish the squad this month, submitting proof for the Ungrim, because he is a "Wrecking Ball" too. Him I might be able to finish on the road.

Nah, the belief that there's nothing orks can't loot is perfectly justified.
If I'd had time to prepare, I would have picked Miley for this month, too.

After stepping away from the last couple of challenges, I think I'll go ahead and throw my hat in the ring for this one. Proof:
Deathwing Knights aren't exactly subtle in how they wage war, bringing the wrath of the Unforgiven upon the Emperor's enemies with big spiky maces. Wrecking balls indeed. This is actually the back half of a squad; the first five models are among the first models I ever painted (four of those were my first ever entry into these challenges!). I'll be doing these with Contrast paints and Army Painter Speedpaints. I need them for games anyways so now's as good a time as any to paint them, right?
My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 21 | Current main painting project: Warhammer 40k Leviathan set

Must be interesting driving a lot like that, especially during the night. You ever catch a glimpse of anything strange on the roads? Maybe something with sharp teeth, pointy ears, fur and a habit of chasing trucks?
Seems some people do.

He's going to be a challenge to photograph due to his leaning so far forward. I'll need to rig up a second light source, I think. I'd forgotten about his tight little buns and cheeky G-string-- this could very well be a Daia T'Nara model. I'm not entirely pleased with the wounds (whip-marks? Again, Daia T). I used a fairly deep red, but it looks more like he's glowing than bleeding.

The Apocalypse tank is mostly glued together, now it is time to paint it
I got one of those too!!! Damn... I won't be able to work on my this round, otherwise I would of joined you .
Btw, it is not from Red Alert 3. It is the Apocalypse Soviet Tank from Red Alert 2, the one from 3 looks different. (Not even from 2, that model is an approximation at best, There are no official RedAlert licensed kits out on the market) and I have looked, closest kits in theme to Red Alert are the Alliance and SSU from DUST tactics.
The mammoth tank you though of first is a GDI heavy tank from C&C Tiberium Sun series.
Thanks, after building the model I definitelly see it is a modern tank, with lots of electronic gadgets. Especially this remote controlled machine gun looks like something made in 21st century.
The idea with GDI tanks is awesome, now I'm playing remastered first C&C game and these vehicles are great. Maybe I'll make GDI Abrams tank at some point in the future.

Interesting models, what kits are the two on the right? One looks very ‘Alien’ like..

The alien fish is a Cetean Upior, it's a hybrid vampire deep one critter. I did strongly consider a black xenomorph scheme for it for that very reason, but ended up with the sickly pale version. The other is a Varcolac, gypsy werewolf, which is probably more green stuff than resin now. It's one of the early casts I reckon as the scale also seems more 28 than 32 (never mind the shoddy QC and mould slippage).

I really didn't have anything to fit this month's theme, but then I saw this figure in a supermarket discount bin. It's some kind of monster from the Ultraman franchise, and it has a wrecking ball for a hand. Totally on-theme.
Happy days! Today I unmade half of my painting progress on Thor by spilling red paint over a finished area. It's an entirely new way of drawing out a painting project. Procrastination? Hah, that's for amateurs!
Good thing there's plenty of month left to fix it. Late in the month I'd have to go with it and claim that Thor is totally meant to bathe in the blood of his enemies.
Silly stuff just keeps happening with Crisis Protocol models. Assembly mishap on Hela, painting mishap on Thor, and Skurge's paintjob isn't up to my usual standard. I should rely give finishing a Marvel model without a hiccup a try...

A bit boring for the most part, staring at a road for 11 hrs a shift for a week strait, splitting night shift with team driver from 3am to 3 pm, sleep drive sleep drive. The job is dangerous that does not forgive mistakes, and rough on the health with poor movement, sleep, and food. But it has very low entry curve, pays well in proportion to how quick and cheap education for it was, and It is quite easy, like, 90% of the job is sitting in comphortable seat, holding the wheel while watching the road, snaking, and listening to something on youtube, for me its the lectures on science, history, theism, and debates.
I have seen some furry friends! And have not hit any,,,, yet. Although, there was once a mouse running across the road at night that was cutting it pretty close. I hope Lil guy is alright.
But furry friends are not a welcomed sight at 70 mil/ hr, super sketch and dangerous for both.
Lolz, Now the job would of been much more exciting if we had to carry crossbows with blessed silver tipped arrow, and matching witch-hunter hats, to shoot off anything furry things that would attempt to chase down trucks
Progress on Ungrim

Varcolac, Romanian for werewolf, love it! You know, in Romanian folklore there isn’t really a distinction between vampires and werewolves… they are the same thing (Varcolac). This is why Stoker originally had Dracula wolfing out a great deal more…
Anyhoo, love the kits, look great fun!

I think it sounds like a great job…I’d do it if I was younger and had less commitments. I’m still slogging it in the building game though…
Still, anything that doesn’t involve an office is a plus in my book!
As for silver tipped arrows… you might need a few in the cab if some people are to be believed! Reason I couldn’t resist commenting is I have heard a few truck drivers tell tales of big, bipedal wolves flanking them at night. One story in particular had a truck driver swearing he had to shoot it before it got in the cab with him! Not great nighttime listening though …
Maybe wait to listen to those stories when you are back behind some solid walls! Haha

It is, and I feel ya. The most important thing at any job and in this hobby, is to enjoy the process, if that is happening then everything is good.
Ironically I am applying for an office job and can't wait to have a stable sleep that is in my own bed, and don't have to take showers at the truck stops. lolz Truly, the grass is always greener on the other side
That is trippy though, never heard of that, link me the story if you can! I will have something to scare my co-drivers with lolz

Yeah it’s mind boggling what some folk claim to witness for sure… not sure I believe any of them but for some bizarre reason people keep coming forward saying they have seen these things. Maybe boredom, maybe hallucinations, maybe attention seeking, maybe clandestine scientific abominations escaped from labs, maybe not, who knows…. maybe just good old fashioned lycanthropes… haha

I just crossed it and started again hehe. Almost was afraid I wasn't going to get this entry done (even though we're not even halfway into the month) considering I was focussing on only one of the Orkies at a time from now on.
p.s. thanks Mothsniper, I had to make their eyes yellow because thats the color of their blueprint/origin "Oothed" eyes. Did you read the (GIGANTIC) story in my first post?

Half the month has passed by and I haven't even started yet, but I voted Wrecking Ball because I wanted to paint the Gorgers from the new Warcry box so here is my entry.
I should still have enough time to paint them since they are basically one color and a few details.
Btw I forgot and added the first wash on the one that is shamefully looking away. Hope that's not a problem.
