Starting to get old.
Fair, but that's likely because it's one person's passion project being produced by another company. Qualtieri has to keep up interest while waiting for Wargames Atlantic to finally get the box out the door. I don't think WA has done this same kind of production with any of their other releases; he can't tell WA to box faster.

I am excited beyond my ability to articulate it…. so I put in my pre-order for the starter box.
It would make sense to sell faction specific in the future but I think that will require WGA to see strong interest in the Quar in general before that can happen.

Fingers crossed. The higher than other wga figures price tag (space nam are $2/miniature and that was their previous high price for infantry) and packaging them with a game as the launch hopefully won’t detract from sales.

It's apples and oranges. You can't take the full price of the game and say well there's 24 figures in the box so each figure costs $x. This is a two-player game in a box - not a typical set of plastics. Along with 24 figures AND bases you get 10 full color activation cards, six D6, a poster/qrs, and a 48 page full color rulebook. Everything two new players need to get started in the world of the Quar.

Can you answer if the rulebook provides rules for more factions than just the two covered by miniatures in the box?
If I wanted to play a Partisans force for example?

Great that the figures are part of a game. Looking forward to seeing them available as figures only since I want to get a lot of them but have no interest in another game.

From what I understand it will have rules for just the two factions. According to Joshua Qualtieri there will be an expanded version in the future.
From the Quar discussion group on Facebook, JQ said….
“This Quar’s War version 1, the book from 2009, is mass-battle. Which is 100% compatible with these new models and a ruleset I am going to suggest for folks to try if they want bigger fights with more models. I'll be uploading a modified pdf of it soon.
The rules in this box are quickstart skirmish rules for 6-12 models per side and will be getting an expanded (full) rulebook later this spring/summer.”
Joshua Qualtieri told me he believes Sarissa Precision will be carrying the thermoplastic Quar blister packs but he did not say exactly when they would be available.
For now you can get them (as well as metal and WGA plastic Quar) from Zombiesmith (Grimisical Games) website rather than the Strange Plastic website.
After putting in my pre-order for the starter box with WGA I went and ordered the new metal and thermoplastic sculpts from JQ over on Zombiesmith/Grimiscal Games. My obsession with Quar is a bit concerning.

I'm hoping my local gaming store picks up the new thermoplastic sculpts when they get the starter set, but I will be ordering the limited (to February) edition Howli and Maerch models.
Also! If anyone's interested in learning more about the Quar and Alwyd, you can visit Rhyfler.com, where you can find lots of info and free PDFs of the rulebooks.
