Since I was a kid I have been collecting classic British sci-fi miniatures and have always been tempted to sculpt some of my own for my main range - Meridian Miniatures. When however, the chance came up to work with the legend that is Kevin Adams on a new project (Dubbed Renegade 83) I jumped at the chance.

So here I am with the first instalment of greenskinned, freebooting space pirates.

Also a special shout out to Fogou Models for these brilliant buildings that Painted to display the minis.

Hope you like them, Cheers!

Love 'em. Everything that was fun about Orks back in the 90s! Best of luck with it

Even uses gobbo green rims on the bases to drive home the ‘90s nostalgia! ‘90’s me would have swallowed those up to go with what was a pretty sizable Kev Adams-sculpted Ork army. Of course, ‘90s me also probably wouldn’t have been able to afford to buy them…

Alas, nostalgia for those old Kev Adams sculpts is not quite enough to tempt me. But I wish them all the luck.

I have like half a squad of classic Ork Freebooterz. Sorely tempted to back these to fill out the squad.

Question for OP.

As someone kickstarter adverse, and as you’ve already wrecked your target?

Will these be available outside of the Kickstarter?

Yes, there will be a late pledge option via Bigcartel (essentially a preorder).

Thanks everyone!

Backed it. My son and I built an ork trukk shaped like a pirate ship, and I need more crew for it!

I'm down for these and am delighted that Kev's still sculpting great stuff.

But I also hope you will sculpt some classic sci-fi minis for Meridian Miniatures yourself, Mr. May, as I've always admired your work, and would love to see you sculpt something in my favorite genre (Oldhammer sci fi.) And when / if you do, please consider doing them in classic metal.
