I have bought a Kasrkin kill team now I think that kill team is a particular game within 40k? Now I'm at the start of building so basically building what I think looks cool but I'm sure at a later date you may be tempted to try a game so I'd like to build these guys into a good cohesive unit for gaming not just (kill team) if that is a different game. So advice on loadout would be great.
Also am I correct in thinking I can use my own colour scheme?

I might be misinterpreting what you're saying but yes, Kasrkin can be used in Kill Team or 40K. In 40K they are part of the Astra Militarum faction. In 10th edition you can take up to 3 units of Kasrkin in an army.
Most people go with 2 plasma guns and 2 meltaguns / grenade launchers / volley guns in a 40K unit.
Bear in mind that a typical 40K game is 2,000 points, which is a lot of models, especially when compared to a Kill Team game.

Thank you I'm a total newb and not seen a game played but becoming aware there is obviously more than one, I am building the stuff I like with maybe getting into the gaming later but it is all very complicated at the moment.

If you are building these guys with the consideration of playing 40k you should:
●Stop building now, before you've glued too much together.
●go to GWs site, go to their Community page, and download the 40k rules & then the Astra Militarum index.
Read the rules, read. understand the stats.
THEN continue gluing things together.

To follow up on ccs, on this site:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/warhammer-40000-downloads/
Core Rules and Astra Militarum documents.
And as for color scheme, yeah you can do whatever you want. If you want it to be a specific unit from 40k history you'd probably want to go with whatever the official colors are, but if you want to go with whatever, that also works just fine.
Here is what I go with on them for example, noting I've got the old metals:

Thanks no worries I'm a scale modeler so do far to much research before even opening the boxes then only to check the kit is correct ?. I'm not sure what anyone plays locally I just like the models and fancied building an army but if the opportunity arises it would be cool to play so having guys that work would be a bonus.
