OMG, the Imperial Banner is disgustingly good. Only a BSB can take it, but it (almost) completely flee-proofs you. No matter how badly you lose combat, you're rolling 3D6, drop the highest, against a 9 if in range of the general, with a reroll. For best effect, the BSB needs to be in the unit taking the pain, to get +1 CRes for the banner, and to get LD8 instead of 7, but great googly moogly. You'll take a charge from a Chaos Lord on a dragon and just back up a few inches!

I'd hope so for a 60pt Banner on your BSB.

Unless said Chaos Lord on dragon kills the relatively squishy Captain carrying it...

Considering he's holding a block of 40 in place to pin the chargers and set up a countercharge, it seems reasonable. Get past those 40 and you're into my artillery park!

He can't, he has to accept the challenge from the even squishier champion That's one 11 point model dead and CRes of 6. Against 2 banners, 2 ranks, and close order. I need a 7 to give ground or an 8 to fall back in good order. On 3D6 drop the highest, with a reroll.

No break tests for the Imperial Banner. It's only fear, terror and panic. It's a really weak item.
Also BSB guy. The only model that can carry the banner allready makes his unit imune to panic...

This, I would have to check but it is for Ld checks, not break tests??

It's not even general LD tests. The text only says fear, terror and panic.
The Imperial banner is a tasteful work of tapestry best used to decorate the walls of your castle. Don't bring it to a battle.
