Both Battle Sisters Squads and Dominion Squads have the 'Cherub' ability:
Dominion Squad datasheet wrote:Cherub: Once per battle, after this unit has performed an Act of Faith, you gain 1 Miracle dice. Designer's Note: Place a Cherub token next to the unit, removing it once this ability has been used.

However, these squads can be split in half using the special property of the Immolator transport:
Immolator datasheet wrote:At the start of the Declare Battle Formations step, you can select one BATTLE SISTERS SQUAD, DOMINION SQUAD or SISTERS NOVIATE SQUAD from your army. If you do, that unit is split into two units, each containing as equal a number of models as possible....

The rules seem pretty clear that you end up with two separate units. Does this mean that both halves of the original squad can now use the once per battle cherub ability (once each)? The only argument I can see against it is the note that you are supposed to remove the incensor cherub token. Each original squad normaly only comes with a single token, so someone might claim that only one of the half squads gets ownership of the token, and then they are the only ones who can use it. But since the cherubim are no longer models and are just tokens can't I bring as many as I want?

Rules as written I would say that since you are creating 2 separate units, both of which have the Cherub ability since it is a part of the datasheet and not part of the model they both have it.

Agreed-with the standard caveat of “Ask your TO or opponent how they feel about it.”

This is an excellent question to ask GW. On the face of it, I would say both “units” benefit from Cherub separate from the other “half”.

Cherub ability is nit equipment or a model it duplicates

This matter has now been decided in the v1.2 codex update:

Basically only one half of your squad gets to keep the cherub in the divorce

Misc thought....

Ok, so I split a 10x squad & put 5 gals in an Immolator. Can I then split the new squad, putting 3 of those models in another Immolator, then do it again with the remaining 2?
Result: 3 Immolators with varying #s of passengers + a unit of 1 SoB on foot.
Not sure why I'd be doing this, but....

You might want to do that to get more immolators. You can have up to six, but they will spontaneously detonate if you try to deploy them without troops inside. However, the rule now reads like this:
At the start of the Declare Battle Formations step, you can select one Battle Sisters Squad, Dominion Squad or Sisters Novitiate Squad from your army. If you do, that unit is split into two units, each containing as equal a number of models as possible (when splitting a unit in this way, make a note of which models form each of the two new units. If you are splitting a unit that has the Cherub ability, only one of the new units can use that ability during the battle – make a note of which of the new units this will be). One of these units must start the battle embarked within this Transport; the other can start the battle embarked within another Transport, or it can be deployed as a separate unit.

My interpretation is that you have to assign both halves during the split, so you don't have any opportunity to split them again.

Plus, it literally says "you can select one Battle Sisters Squad" It gives permission to select one, it does not give permission to select two or more.

So you can only do this to one unit and split into two.

Surely the intention is that you get to do this once per immolator?

Yes, it looks that way, but only once per immolator, you can't split a squad several times from one Immolator.

You'd think but GW have not changed the wording In the transport section of the agents immolator so sisters immolator you get one cherub and agents immolator you get 2

Also slight caveat wtc faq hasn't been updated yet and still specifys you get 2 if your playing wtc
