Hi

Just started playing again, I want to find missions in 10th or game ideas to mix it up.

Are the mission packs to complex for casual play and for matched and tournament only or would that work.

I see Paris Nexus is out, would this be worth buying for casual play only? As a new player again am I biting off more than I can chew??

'Matched Play' and 'casual play' are not mutually exclusive. I find the mission cards are great even for casual play - especially since there really aren't any other missions available for Matched Play.

The two mission decks (current = Pariah, previous = Leviathan) work perfectly fine for casual play. There's no reason to suspect that as a new player you'd have any difficulty using them.

Don't use them, look back in the history of 40K for missions to play for casual. The tourney mission is multiple flavours of stand on 5 dirt circles for 5 turns inside MDF ruin hell, on repeat. Not my or plenty of peoples definition of fun and you may risk chasing away potential opponents from the hobby.

The Pariah Nexus pack is great for pickup games. Using random draws for the mission parameters and then the Tactical Objectives helps keep games fresh.

They are not too complex.

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand

I prefer Leviathan personally, but either pack is great for casual play. The scenarios just help force armies to move into conflict and give you something to focus on. They're not tremendously complicated or anything and if you want, you can absolutely play with just the primary objectives initially and add secondaries later if you want.

Sometimes, you just need to have a straight-up fight.

I'd use the mission packs. Either. Even if you're getting your teeth kicked in from a bad match up or rotten luck, the missions will let you put points on the board and ease the "feel bads" someone might otherwise have.
