Hello, I have a statistics class I need to collect data for. I was hoping you guys would help by answering this one (1) question survey.

I'm asking what army you are currently collecting, whether just for fun or tabletop.

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/F6J62CH

For example, I am currently collecting a Kroot-heavy Tau army, so I consolidated those choices into one. I love the Kroot, they're very early 2000s kind of edgy, to me. I especially love how They are designed as tribal warriors, their silhouette being based on Maasai Warriors with a mashup of other Indigenous American cultures.

I expect the data to skew Space Marines, so I separated them into Bespoke chapters, (Black Templars, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, etc.) and Custom Chapters (Raptors, Blood Jaguars, Ball Stompers, etc.) and folded Deathwatch and Grey Knights into Imperial Agents.

Cheers!

I'm 3 Rhinos, 1 Blackstar, 1 3x Vet Bike squad, & a handful of bitz away from finished.

Why bias your data by rolling Grey Knights into Imperial Agents? They're still going to get their own Codex this edition, last we heard, so should be treated as their own faction (or subfaction, at least). What's good for the Sisters, in this case is good for the Knights.

Unfortunate for the Deathwatch, however.

You've also missed Chaos Daemons off the list, as well as World Eaters (yet include Death Guard and Thousand Sons). Oh, and the Leagues of Votann. And the Custodes.

For that matter, why have the "bespoke" Chaos Legions as distinct options from the CSM choice, while bundling "bespoke" Space Marine Chapters together?

And, to echo PenitentJake's point, making this a single-faction survey doesn't really work - even just in active WIP projects at the minute I've got units from Daemons, Blood Angels, and Mentor Legion on deck, and have finished a number of Necron units this year.

I'd advise rethinking your survey, accurately (and consistently) capturing the factions from the game, and starting again.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

As an aside, how does your class treat "I am collecting several..."?

Yeah likewise - I put in Dark Eldar to give them some love, but I also have CSMs, SMs, Tyranids, and I'm eyeing up Votann...

I picked Eldar cause there was no Harlequin selection, which I'm going to buy some more stuff of probably next WH-store visit.. although I also ordered a new wraithlord so it still applies.

Also have a collection of still boxed Votann from last visit there, but you know.. first the piles of max. shame, then the new piles of min. shame.

Death Guard, World Eaters, Thousand Sons, and Chaos Marines are all entirely separate Codecs.
Blood and Dark Angels might have additional content over and above the normal Space Marine Codex, but their base is the exact same.

And yet one of the spikey ones wasn't even deemed worth of being an option in this thing.

I suspect the OP just needs a dataset to run statistical tests on and generate some graphs via whatever software their class is using to practice the process, so the quality of the data is probably not particularly relevant.

However, I agree that data integrity is a hugely important bedrock of any statistical analysis. As the expression goes, crap in, crap out. So these are all useful things to consider about whether any resulting analysis is actually based on valid assumptions. I don't know the scope of the statistics class the OP is taking, but anything beyond essentially a programming class for using the software (which can use available example datasets) should encorporate these aspects of data validity and integrity.

Frankly, I don't think this is something that can be adequately analysed with a single choice question. Maybe 1st army could be, but then you would need to cover every army included since... at least 2nd edition. You could group by categories- Marines, CSM, Eldar, Orks etc, but the data is less granular and could throw some oddities (do you group squats and LoV?).
