I mean, if you want a "shoot Chaos Cultists/Traitor Guard/CSM" game, the Sisters VR game exists.

Just remember folks. Panic. Panic all the time. It's the only way to survive, other than just being mindful, of course-but geez, that's so friggin' boring. - Aegis Grimm

Hopefully they don't do the "xenos at the start chaos at the end" narrative again. I think I and II were a lot of fun I just think we're due for a change as far as the storytelling pattern goes.

Well, without xenos the game would start with massacring hordes of normal humans (cultists, guard) in the most brutal fashion - that's not really appealing to the mass market.

So you've missed the Horus Heresy being a thing in the model world; and Borderlands and honestly MOST shooters that are focused on killing more humans and humaoids.

'Killing' is one thing. Slaughtering ordinary humans in special cinematic finishing moves with chainswords and heads, limbs and intestines flying around is something else. Borderlands is a comic game and shooters aren't usually that explicit. Space Marine is.

And I play Horus Heresy. So?. Tell me more about what I've missed. And what it has to do with the game.

Space Marine is about slaying weak troops and minor bosses en masse, with some heavy hitters at some points. What do you think those non-Xenos goons should be?

To cover both the swarm and elite aspects they could simply go the kill the warlord route, hundreds of heretics with apostles at the start, then brute squads / minor daemons. Work up to chaos space marines and princes. Finish with a greater daemon or warlord. Each time you play through it's a different chaos god so it can't be pre-gamed with weapon loadout.
