I swear I haven't been press ganged into working for the Jung Pirates and just escaped due to the distraction of the creatures coming up from the deep... why would you say such a thing? I'm just a humble emissary that got lost in the beauty of the realm.
Onto the previews...
General Wu Shuo
Wu Shuo has tirelessly battled the emperor's adversaries in the Western territories for as long as his memory serves. He endured a gruelling campaign that consumed thousands of samurai and ashigaru daily. This war without end prompted the unpopular initiation of conscription in the Prefectures. General Wu Shuo, a veteran of more than military conflicts, hides his true feelings as he is merely a vassal of Emperor Song, knowing what to say and when to say it. His rise to the top has not been meteoric, quite the opposite; it has been a long, detailed process of one foot in front of the other for a very long time, but this has garnered him support, both at court and among those he commands, those of the Golden Legion, fighters nearly beyond compare. Wu Sho often harkens back to a simpler time when he had less responsibility, like when he fought alongside seven samurai at the Tiger’s Gate against what looked like thousands - and probably was - emerging victorious at dawn of the following day; and the time when his commander quit the field proclaiming all was lost, except it wasn’t, as Wu Shuo and a small contingent broke the back of the enemy lines, bringing the emperor’s justice to the Denizens of Okara. Then there was the time that he slew the famed Leopard of Makar… the list of victories seems long and storied. But for now, the emperor commands him to go to the East, to Jwar, where he hopes to meet an old friend and ally, General Mako, who speaks of dragons and more.
Due to his long service in the Golden Legion, Wusho is a melee model first and foremost. At 17 Rice, his Prowess and Armour are a fine start to any model you want to get into the fray. However, the General shines with his Ki Statistic of 3, giving him great defences against Opposed Ki attacks while fueling his abilities and making his own Target Priority Ki Feat very likely to succeed. Players of The Imperial March theme now have more Death Sentence Mechanics to combo with and to help the many Melee 3 models available. When Target Priority isn’t needed, Art of War is the premier tactical Ki Feat in the game. As befits a General, Wu Shuo does not need to leave any aspect to chance; he simply wins the Tactical roll.

Zhongwei
If a member of the Imperial Family hadn't visited her camp, Zhongwei might have remained a highly competent but overlooked gunso in the Golden Legion. The Emperor’s cousin, the Imperial Prince, who had received orders to inspect the troops, visited her camp. However, the enemy of the West learned of this and launched a mission to assassinate or capture the Prince. Though they only reached the outskirts of the camp and never got close to their target, the Prince’s daughter was walking near the perimeter, collecting wildflowers, becoming the focus of the thwarted attack. Over a dozen enemy warriors closed in on the young girl, and when the others finally sprang into action, they found Zhongwei pierced by arrows shielding the young girl. Zhongwei's selfless actions earned her much praise and led to her being taken to the capital to convalesce. While there, the emperor, thankful for her bravery in saving a favoured niece, bestowed much praise, declaring her under his power alone. The exact meaning of this remains unclear. Perhaps it was a reward to shield her from lesser nobles' interferences? Or maybe he intended a commission in the Golden Sentinels? All that is known is that the Imperial scribe wrote beside her name, “A rank second only to the Emperor." High praise indeed, regardless of the meaning. While a guest in the capital, Zhongwei found court life discomforting, and upon witnessing her unease, General Wu Shuo offered to take her back to the front lines where she would serve as his special Lieutenant, empowered to cut through any bureaucracy from bothersome ministers, enabling the General to wage war. Those obstructing the army's efforts would only need to be shown her commission paper once before bowing, scraping, and apologising; even high-ranking nobles are not immune to its power.
With a simple profile and low Rice Cost, Zhongwei already offers something to Imperial March players regarding flexibility. This additional low-cost profile allows for more models and unique card combinations in this Theme. Whether played in a Theme or Faction, she is a great point holder, and her Veteran Ki Feat keeps her Dice Pool high despite enemy-inflicted States. As she enjoys the emperor’s favour, the Death Sentence for any who dare attack will allow for easier counterattacks and discourage enemies from attacking.

The Adepticon Release is being teased:
I'm leaning towards a royal/court faction/warband.
As an aside, if part of the reason why you're into Bushido the Game is because you're a fan of Legend of the Five Rings by AEG, there is a fun roguelite auto-battler video game out called Shadowveil: Legend of the Five Rings which I've been having a ton of fun with. You pick a Crab Clan samurai to lead a party of various Crab Clan classes and venture forth into the Shadowlands. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2536960/Shadowveil_Legend_of_The_Five_Rings/

Well, didn't take long for them to reveal the Adepticon...
Joining the ranks of the Prefecture of Ryu, Passing the Night will be available as a pre-release during Adepticon (27th - 30th March) both at the event and on their online store. While this box will be available on general release in the near future no date is set for that yet, so if you want to pick up this exciting new release, don’t miss out.
Not quite what I expected, gives me Inquisitor retinue vibes.

Rising like the wretched below, I have returned from the dead (computer) with more previews of things you can preorder now from https://gctstudios.com/catalog/new-specials
As previously seen from the Adepticon reveal
Passing the Night - Themed Warband (Prefecture of Ryu)
Heralds of our times, heralds of woe! Through the mist, they come, treading rhythmically; four voices cry in unison,” Death! Dishonour! Judgement! Punishment!” It is a curious procession, never seen in Jwar, not even when old man Shiho died.
“Death! Dishonour! Judgement! Punishment!” they call in time to the stamp of their weary feet. The mourning party marches slower than they would on parade as a sign of respect to the daimyo that the reliquist carries on his incense-smoke-shrouded back; the remains of the leader of the Takashi clan, wrapped in silk, and prayer beads and scrolls that highlight his many deeds of bushido. Alas, he is no more, and someone has to bear the cost of the Takashi clan's wrath; they desperately need someone to blame, and they have found it in these four men.
Takashi Hira found them guilty, and they must pay for their ineptitude. They are accused of laxness in the face of danger, allowing assassins to kill their daimyo. Four commanders—one of the Watch, the Guard, the Castle, and his private bodyguard—had been in charge of his defence and failed. They stop at every village, where judgment is passed upon them. Woe betide any who try to waylay or attack them, as they are still some of the best the Dragon Clan has to offer, but more than this, they have a deep, burning need to relieve themselves of shame by performing heroic actions. These Samurai failed to protect their daimyo. They will not fail again.
This box contains seven thematic models for the Prefecture of Ryu and is a 100 Rice force ready to play. The Samurai can be made very powerful, but this requires them to cleanse themselves of shame, which can be difficult as it mounts. You have a considerable advantage if you can control the shame, but bringing shame upon the wrong model can be disastrous.

Models
Miho & Tama of Prefecture of Ryu
All funeral processions have wailers. A daimyo will always have many of the peasants wailing naturally at his death, but to ensure there is never a time when grief is not on show, the Takashi clan, in this instance, provides professional mourners. Statuesque and graceful, they assist in the endless cycle of prayers and remembrances as woe-struck mourners attach blessings, letters, and prayer strips to them for carrying alongside their dear, departed daimyo on the solemn path to his final resting place.
Both of these support models have various abilities that can be useful in different warbands. In particular, Endurance is a powerful buff that allows a Melee model to last for an entire turn even after being exhausted. Miho and Tama, known as the Ladies of Letters, have two powerful Ki-feats: Tears for the Dead and Spirit-Ward.
Tears for the Dead temporarily sidelines a strong enemy combat model while Spirit Ward, well-known to other factions, can be decisive in most matchups. The Ladies also bestow Prayer Tokens, which can change the dynamic of any scenario, but favour the Prefecture of Ryu players, who are long-experienced in dealing with such matters.

On to some new stuff below
The Wretched - Cult of Yurei starter
In the shadows and dark corners of the world, the worshippers of Yurei are gathering force. The many members of this Cult may not even be aware that they are serving the same dark masters.
A once-great scion of the Peacock clan, laid low by a curse of his own making.
Kokou will live forever. Many a man’s dream but for Kokou, a living nightmare of half life and many stages of undeath. This would be a sad tale already but Kokou has also damned the men under his command, sharing their Lord's fate and existing as wretches, their only companions now are creatures as fell and pathetic as they are.
Immortality also has its advantages however and Yurei can always make use of a combat trained group with nowhere else to turn.

Render
Nintoku of The Cult of Yuri
Executioners rarely live in the towns where they work. Most prefer anonymity, while others are open about what they do. However, their association with death leaves them all but outcasts by the villagers, as it seems death’s scent follows them, tarnishing their every interaction. While some in the profession remain detached, seeing it as justice served rather than a life lost, others revel in the killing. In Nintoku's case, he never shies from telling the locals his profession or how much he enjoys ending the lives of those sentenced to death. By doing this, he fulfils his bargain with Yurie. Still, no matter how many perish at his hands, satisfaction is always out of reach, leaving his dark thirsts unslaked, even when ending those from the higher classes, the classes that look down upon him and those of his ilk.
Nintoku is a solid Melee profile, but more than this, he can set up other Burakumin for the win. When he slips his noose over the neck of an enemy, allies are much more likely to land their most devastating abilities, which in The Cult of Yurei can be amazingly powerful, and often disgusting.
Render

Master Bat
Ancient, time-worn, almost immortal celestials walk among us; the portents cannot be clearer. The paths they make and follow are akin to the cosmic wheels of fate and ki, ever-turning, blessing or cursing with every great revolution. In the form of Master Bat, the embodiment of the Cycle of the Bleeding Moon, has descended from heaven to promote certain destinies.
But what does this mean for the great cycle? What does this mean for Jwar?
Master Bat has a toolbox of tricks that can be useful for many lists, but he most certainly suits the Bleeding Moon ninja theme. How could they exclude their patron after all?
Render
Cards
Kamuy of the Minimoto Clan
When the Hoshi accompany their Minimoto allies to war, the mountains’ ferocity goes with them. The Ice-Witches can summon a powerful spirit that embodies the ferocity of a fierce mountain storm; a wrath of ice and the death of cold made manifest that is virtually indestructible and terrifying as it mauls opponents to death. Most soldiers never want to behold Kamuy, the fierce mountain spirit in question. The Minimoto could conquer the Jwar Isles if these kami did not melt when away from their mountain peaks for too long.
With seven boxes and Durable, Kamuy is already something to consider when making a list; with +2 Strength, powerful attack and Rend, he is a fantastic melee beater. You must use him before he melts; however, you must get the most out of him early or make sure he always has a Blizzard to fight in.
Render
Cards
Katzu of The Awoken
Like the other males in the ever-present but mostly unseen Jaakuna, Katzu enjoys a life devoid of pleasure, rest or appreciation for his sacrifice. Myriad spiderlings cover Katzu’s body, which slowly drains his blood to feed. Should he be killed, they abandon him in droves to find fresher prey. For the Jaakuna, this is Katzu's greatest contribution.
Katzu's bow is surprisingly effective, but his real use comes from his Ki Feat. The ability to add more swarms, even as a melee trick, is powerful and can also help keep your Feat value high by adding an additional Kumo.

Some sad news from GCT Studios:
GCT Studios wrote:Due to changes to the USA’s tariff policy we will unfortunately be temporarily suspending the shipment of orders placed on our webstore for delivery to the USA. Any orders from this point forward will not be shipped until 8th September at the earliest. The good news with that is, that this is the shipping date for our latest wave, silver linings and all.
This is something that we really did not want to have to do and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Now on to the cool stuff...
Bǎi Qiān themed warband and Bu Dong of the Imperial Court
These are the first releases for the Imperial Court, our newest faction in Bushido. With that said this faction’s logo has already been present on many Ronin models so players already have many options for fielding an Imperial warband

Hiko of the Temple of Ro-Kan
Long before she joined the Temple, Hiko had the spirit of the air within her, leading Hiko to explore far and wide, leaving her parents to worry. But that fear ended when she returned from exploring one day with a large mountain dog at her side that quickly became her stalwart companion. She named him Byiba, and the two were inseparable even when the local monks laid claim to the massive dog who had once been theirs. But no matter how hard the monks tried, the dog stayed by her side. Not long after her interactions with the Temple, Hiko decided to join them, which was the only way the dog would return to his former companions.
Hiko’s uses may not be as evident as some other, more directly powerful models, but she excels at movement and placement. She also allows more Flanking models, which creates synergy with Byiba, while her combat shenanigans can turn a brutal melee in your favour. Villager models can often become outclassed, so any help offered by other models is always beneficial, and we are interested to see how players will use the Wander Off Ki Feat.

Tuk of the Silvermoon Trade Syndicate
Tuk’s unpredictability changes with every swig of whatever he’s carrying on his belt that day, often leaving him acting on instinct rather than orders from his Silvermoon superiors. After a day of numerous slugs from his bottle, he stole the famous and priceless katana called Moonfang from its Tanaka samurai owner. Tuk quickly learned how to wield it as scores of samurai sought its return to its rightful master. However, despite Tuk’s copious bad decisions, he has quickly become a force to be reckoned with when he draws his silvery blade from its scabbard.
The latest in our Silvermoon “Thugs”, Tuk comes with his own new, unique versions of Silvermoon combat mechanics by choosing whether or not to re-roll a poor dice, all while benefiting from the abundance of re-rolls available to the Silvermoon Trade Syndicate.

Ma'kid the Landslide of the Savage Wave
Sages and priests who studied the stars and bones of divination never knew that the powerful force known as Ma’Kid was an actual, living, breathing entity, rather than a force of extreme and violent destiny. Ma’Kid simply appears, unbidden, like a natural disaster, killing all in his path, leaving nought but destruction and annihilation in his wake.
Ma’kid can almost always reach his target and does so by altering the entire battlefield. He can move many models out of his path, even applying the prone state while doing so. Ma’Kid wields two massive Temple gongs as shields, providing him with unprecedented protection for an Oni, and when combining both Parry and Tough, Ma’Kid can withstand some heavy hits.

Ren, Powerful Hatred of The Awoken
Ren, Powerful Hatred, was last available on prerelease over 12 months ago, those who have picked up The Awoken since then will now be able to add her to their warbands.
Grandmother takes pleasure in infecting and corrupting those with the purest hearts and noblest intentions, recruiting them to her brood. But every once in a while, a truly malevolent being crosses her path, ripe for the picking. Ren was one such wretch. Ren, already renowned for her herb lore and skill, apprenticed herself to the local healer who lived outside the village, helping the villagers with their ailments. Ren quickly grew to resent the seemingly endless stream of villagers becoming angry that she never received payment for her work, only food. Why should everyone else receive coin for their work and not her? Her hatred and jealousy toward the village grew. In time, after her mentor passed away, Ren began adding her spite and anger to her tinctures, making them bitter and unpalatable, often causing the villagers great pain and suffering, sometimes even death. Eventually, no one visited her, leaving her hungry and even angrier and more resentful. The villagers avoided her altogether as her dwelling collapsed, and she began to suffer from ailments brought on by age and hate. But all that changed after she became ensnared by Grandmother and the Awoken, deciding to visit her village one last time…
Ren’s knowledge from her former life has left her with the Heal trait, which can be helpful as the faction has plenty of models with many wounds but few other defences. She can leech from the weak, pathetic males, gaining Ki easier than other Jaakuna. While not a Melee model, her Ki Block option can find interesting uses. The Shadow Tendrils Ki Feat, well known to Savage Wave players, is quite different and adds a powerful control option. By far Ren’s best point, however, is her cost, at just 6 Rice, she is worth it just to increase the fear values of your other Kumo!

Undermoles of The Descension
Most tribes have developed to the point of domesticating animals. The Tribes on the Great Plains use horses for travel and birds of prey for hunting. For the subterranean followers of the fallen gods, they have had little choice but to turn to the half-wild undermoles who dwell alongside them in the dark. They assist in digging escape tunnels and alerting the tribesfolk when danger is near. Unfortunately, they are also known to chew through nearly everything, including equipment, housing and defences.
A very cheap option, along with their toolbox of abilities to appear in the middle of the Battlefield and remove Destructible Terrain, Undermoles can help your front line with their respectable 3 Melee and Tough Trait.
Art
Render
Card
Jung Sen'in of the Jung Pirates
As well as the model and stat card this blister also includes a new theme force and enhancement card!
Sen’in was around when the Jung were still a loyal samurai clan and the official navy in the Jwar Isles, and because of her many years of faithful service to the Jung, she has earned the esteemed rank of Commodore. Sen’in runs a tight ship, not tolerating the usual pirate rabble found on other vessels. She sails with a detachment of highly trained and disciplined marines who only marshal when violence is imminent. Otherwise, they sleep, eat, and train in separate quarters from the rest of the crew.
A new captain means a new crew to explore. In Bushido, we represent different crews by giving Kaizoku a bonus from the Captain Model and the Captain’s Theme. In this case, Bravery and Armour mean the humble sailors will be a much more reliable group. Coordinated attack and combat bonuses when Commanded make them more powerful. Sen’in herself has a minor cleansing effect, always useful if you have no Sea Witches aboard, but it is her one-on-one duelling ability that shines. Gaining Feint and Dodge while preventing other enemy models from interfering in the duel means she can certainly hold her own and possibly beat many of the top models in the game.
