Thank you very much ! I just got back from a long wedding week end, haven't had much sleep so I'll probably get some rest and sneak in some hobby time today !

I am honoured to be regarded as a hobby uncle, tho I'm not sure the praise is warranted Keep on looking after that mutt of yours, sounds like they give you valuable structure at the moment. Jordy gave you good advice too! I'm much happier these days but you may have read on my thread about the gakky job I lost c. 2 years ago. Everything passes, mate, we just have to do our best and go easy on ourselves.

Nice fluff on the auxilia. The original Scythe fluff will always have a place in my heart but your stuff is solid. I should neve rhave sold my 2nd edition Tyranid and Elday codexes, but one day I'll get some back.

I like those side arms these latest guys are rocking!!

All good then !
Well both the kid and the fluffy one do give me structure, so that's good, they also tire the hell out of me but i've been trying to get my life on tracks and started therapy as well so I just gotta trust the process !
I did follow Jordy's advices, helped me a lot to get things started ! so yeah i took some time off to cool down and sort things out.
I'm happy for you to know that you're in much better place now, that's the wholesome part of the hobby that I love. allowing us to connect to kindred spirit across different platforms, continents and timezone through tiny plastic soldiers !

Thank you for the kind words as always, I try to be true to those times, as the original lore is where i stayed, i try to expand a little bit but I'm afraid I just don't have the kind of time I used to have to fact check everything !
I used to love to write fluff in the most detailed and accurate way possible, now i'm stuck in a place where I try to be concise yet entertaining for a virtually non existent audience !
I guess I try to rationalize the time spent on the hobby for it to be acceptable. but hopefully I'll manage to be able to enjoy it for myself once more as it is supposed to be !

My kid has shown growing interest in my " weird lizard hunters " and so i've preordered the Armageddon box for the both of us. not the most financialy sound way to go but hey hobby sharing is a great bonding experience ! so as projects go i'm set for the next year !
I've started to clear my backlog not by finishing ongoing projects mind you, that would be way too easy and smart, but by starting another one !
I had those 5 terminators from the combat patrol mag, and while I tried to stay true to the lore and their lack of remaining terminator armour I am already overboard with my command squad and characters
Buuuut , if I tie those 5 to my unfinished techmarine, dreadnought and speeder alongside a big squad of scouts, I can assemble a nice salavtion team
so part of the force yet independent ! loophole. you can't keep record of the gear if you have no inventory whatsoever and if your forces are scattered and unaccounted for

I'll have to write about that once everything is done I guess but for now pics !
I assembled them and started a little bit of kitbashing, i've put a little more work on the Sgt. and I plan on taking extra wip shots as well. so here goes nothing and hope you'll like the updates !

Take care and see ya'll

Hi there ! How have you been ?

Yeah they will be ! Reinforced armour, cloth, may be overlapping shoulder cloak I have a rough idea but nothing specific yet so if you got any suggestions I'm all ears !

It's been long. I'm fine, government blocked clouflare and technically the half of internet, so I was cut off the dakka for almost 3 month.

If you have spare winged Tyranid prime you can use his wings as a shoulder pad deco

As long as you're okay i'm relieved !

guess what ? I'm fidgetting with wings from a parasite of mortex, it has a nice flow to it but i'm not entirely convinced yet , need more work

as for the other boy, he's got some reinforced chest plate for now.. he kinda looks like Fabius Bile atm but that's only step one so he'll look better !

glad you're back anyway ! i have missed your inspiring inputs ! take care.

What I mean is more like new ultramarine cloacks fixed on shoulderpad. You can cut and bend the wing bby this linexw and fix on right pad.

Exactly how I envisioned it as wel ! Thank you for the tips, I plan to work on it as a separate piece altogether anyway, or it'll be a pain to paint !

Hey Sarp, glad to hear you are doing a little better and that the advice helped a little. Just passing on what was given to me.

I see you caved to the lure of the shinny new boxset, I admit I was tempted but decided to wait, which I’m hoping I don’t regret! Be good for some family hobby time though getting those lizards painted, might even progress to a few games after with any luck!

The terminators are looking good, you’ve definitely made them unique, and I’m liking the weapon combination, works nicely on them! Very interested to see how the parasitic cloak turns out!

Hey man , nonetheless that's been really helpful and very kind of you ! So thank you very much for that

Yeah I probably shouldn't have and kinda feel bad about it now but i'm sure the feeling will vanish once I have the box at home
The game part might actually be a very good Idea, I remember not trying that much as no one wanted to play with me when I was a kid so who knows ?

Cheers ! i'm glad you like it, I never was a fan of storm bolters they feel too bulky and not impressive enough. I initialy wanted to load them with compact heavy bolters but I just love the design of old plasma canon with all the tubing. Now that looks like a proper 40K gun.
I wonder if I should just go all in and get them one each ? I'm still unsure about the chain glaives ..

Well I'm calling him done ! I mean building wise, there's a bit more work needed for clean ups and details sculpts but he shouldn't end much different than this :

Take care and thanks again for checkin in !

Oh that's great. Old plasmas are best.
+++Criticism ON+++
Wing is a bit off, like it's need to bee a bit unbend. At least I have a such feeling on second photo.
+++Criticism OFF+++
Still he looks great on the first and the last one. But again this plasma. And nothing else matters.

Oooh ! okay, you meant flattening it a bit, so less curvy, because I did cut it where you suggested it to shape it a bit, but I guess I bent it the wrong way, i'll try that and post pictures ! I really do like your inputs and criticism so fire away !

yeah those plasma canons are

You could cut extended parts and bend them by cutting and gluing win another angle. And put wing a bit closer to body

Managed to get a more organic flow by bending flattening and cutting a bit more, do you think that's better ?
I managed to fold it a bit closed to the body as well like you suggested, if more is needed I'll probably chop it up in different sections and glue it to a putty membrane, might be what you suggested in the first place !

The greenstuff bit on top is currently held by blue tack it'll be worked on more just before paiting stage in a near(ish) future

I'm hapy with it as well, some cleanup is needed for sure but that will have to wait till the squad is done.. a little pic showing some update on the other member of the squad they are not done yet at all but slowly getting there !

they'll need some cables, tubes, ornament, belts, cloaks and gribblies here and there, it's a little bit overwhelming tbh but at the very least my armageddon box has been delayed so I've got a little bit more time to complete them !

any tips or inputs are welcome!

They looks great, though don't you mind use Tyranids chest pieces for armor reinforcements? It would be very thematic and cool.

Thank you they do need some more work but I feel like if I add to much they'll be a pain to paint afterwards.. I might commit though since I have a huge backlog of unpainted mini and Armageddon has just arrived ahaha !

While I considered it, the chitinous plate seems more practical to just slap onto armour for a reinforced look, while the ribs like part may be ornamental but not yet practical.
And so I did reinforced the sarge and the guy right under on the pics.

I may add some plate on the shoulders of the other or the vambraces or the shin guard I don't really know yet

If you have raveners kit, they had 5 spare heads and they are right size to be cut in half and used as shoulderpads

Wow. That was awesome to catch up on. You're conversions are great and I love the gritty feel of the paint job.

Keep plugging away - I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I don't but that's good to know, I might find something of this peculiar size in my bitsbox though. tbh I hadn't even considered using spare heads as shoulder pads.. thank you for the idea !

Spare heads is universal upgrade XD termagants heads is a right size for tacticus armor parts
Hormagants are best for IG sized since chitinous part of head are small

Great job on the cloak it looks wonderful. And I’m a real big fan of the plasma cannons, they just seem right size for the terminators. Very lethal! The whole squad is looking nice together.
