I’m new to Warhammer. I have the space marines combat patrol, and liked he terminators as well as the terminator captain and terminator librarian. I wanted to build a 1000 point army around them, but don’t really know what I’m doing. I’m open to any suggestions, but would prefer to at least have a unit of terminators with the terminator captain. I currently have two terminators in the list with the librarian and captain leading the respective units.

Welcome to Dakka and the Ultramarines.

For a first list it’s not a bad one. You’ve got some mobility, both pre-game deployment, and on table. A little light on the later, but with so much deep strike option you should be OK. If you need to redeploy units, you don’t have a lot of options.

You’ve got a couple of hammers, and some small units to grab objectives and do actions.

But it’s almost all anti-horde firepower. Now you can do a lot with a good round of bolter fire, especially with strats and buff. For some things you want more strength and armor pen. First thing you should do is take the options you can. In 10th, upgrades are free. What heavy weapons are the terminators bringing? Do you need more bolters on the Inceptors, or would plasma make more sense?

Most marine anti-tank is fairly obvious. Metla and Lasccannons, and assorted things that resemble them. Generally low volume of fire, with high S and AP. Plasma and it’s kin also can get the job done, especially agasints light vehicles. Lower S, but more shots generally. Take a look at the codex and model range and see what call out to you. And then cut a few units to make room. You can always add the units back in a 2,000 point list if you already have the models .

What weapons would you suggest I give to some of my terminators? Do you have some good recommendations for a unit in similar point range to the interceptors that I could swap them out for for more anti tank?

While I generally like assault cannons on terminators (they have good synergy with the bolters, shooting at the sake mind of targets) you might want to go with cyclone missile launchers, for the ranged AV.

Magnets is the better answer.

If you just want to swap one squad, eliminators with las fusils might work. Or drop 2 squads and get something like a gladiator lancer or a balistus dread.

Take this with a grain of salt. I’ve not been keeping up with the meta on what our “hot” units are. Which is one reason I suggested figuring out what you like that works for the role. What’s the “best” option for the points will come and go, but cool minis endure.

You don't need to look at Ultramarines if you like Terminators, might I interest you in some Dark Angels?

Do you have a dark angels list for 1000 points in mind?

Remember in Incursion Level you can only use 2 of the same dataset, unless it's Battleline where you can use 4.

The Detachment has you selecting Objectives to take and you get bonuses for attacking said Objective.
