Hi guys,

I wanted to share a project I’ve just launched after several months toiling. My years trading on Swap Shop and r/Miniswap inspired me to build a tool that streamlines and secures mini trades. The result: https://miniswap.gg

Miniswap is built on a catalogue of 6k+ minis and mini sets, enriched with data on key attributes (model count, release date, MSRP, SKU, etc.) to make it easier to find what you’re looking for and to more accurately list/catalogue what you have. I plan to expand the catalogue with other important info, including pricing data on used minis (so there’s finally transparency on the value of models in different conditions like NIB, NOS, primed, tabletop-standard painted, etc.) and gameplay stats. The goal is to give people all the information they could need to figure out what their next addition should be. Commission and army list features are also in the works.

I also designed an integrated payment and shipping flow to make buying and sending minis as easy and secure as possible (I drew a lot of inspiration from Vinted for this).

I’d be really grateful for your feedback on what I’ve built so far, and would love to hear if there are features or improvements you think I should add.

My only comment is that the font is quite hard to read. I think it works okay for the header, but for the body I'd use a regular sans-serif font.

I tend to use this nowadays:

as it looks best on all devices.

What were your favourite aspects of bricklink? I never used it for lego trades.

I was reading that it's only for Canadians to sell to Canadians, Americans to sell to Americans and so forth. (I assume this allows you to not deal with Tarrifs and other ugliness between countries).

Maybe have a filter that let's me remove items that I cannot buy? Or just select my country?

Yes, that's correct. I've set it up so that once you're registered and select a region, you'll only see listings available in your country.

Good point for prior to registration though. I'll implement a feature to only show listings that match the region of your IP address.

Don't rely on IP address = location, or at least let people change it. People vacation, live near the border, use VPN, etc.

What did you write it in tech stack wise?

My only complaint is that it doesn't appear to support bundle sales. When I decide to sell, I often want to sell an entire collection at once, not just random one off kits.

Implemented this change. Stack is Postgres/Rust/HTMX/vanilla HTML/CSS/JS.

Noted. I'm in the process of working out a bulk inventory syncing solution for CSVs + Shopify accounts for game stores. This way, you'll just need a breakdown of each of the units in your lot, and you'll be able to list them all at once. Will also considered adding functionality for "army" or "lot" listings.

I've heard that many sellers have a harder time selling lots all at once + are able to get better prices by selling piecemeal. Does that sound right to you?

Looking at LOTR stuff, I notice this copyright notice is clipped off slightly.

I've taken a brief look, but is it correct that it's only for the UK, US, and Canada?
