I miss some of the zany older models and photos from the past. What are some of your favorites?

I would play 1000 Sons if they looked like this.

I like the holiday ones... Red Gobbo and such. I wish they'd do more... a Halloween Tomb King or Necron. Though I understand if they don't want to do a July 4th mini.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

RT and especially Space Fleet had some goodies, everything was raw and unfiltered then.

The RT conference table, which has been homaged a few times since is definitely a favorite.

So is this shot of civilians.

Definitely not your father's Buck Rogers serial.

I remember seeing a little while back, someone did a great space marine conversion into Ash from Evil Dead, it was amazing.

Honestly I think for me it's the classic 3rd edition Ork boyz that are still on sale.
Yes, they have Gorilla poses and oversized heads, but the more new ork kits I build the more I realize I prefer the old look, especially the goofy heads. They're simply cooler aliens while the newer ones might as well be Digganobz with their small teef and upright poses.

The wizard is older than the one linked earlier.

The noise marine with an electric guitar.

Nothing quite captures the 1980's hard rock/metal influences of 40k like this mini.

.

Cadians, Sisters of Battle, Drukhari, Custodes

Classic, I’m glad they did the print to order thing recently. I was gonna get three, one to lead each of my noise marine units, but then I saw the price of three and settled for just one.

One day I will have something funny enough to be in a signature.

hobby blog

Also dm me anime recommendations, I could use fun stuff to watch.

During the early editions of 40k, there was a Squats army you could play, which was basically Space Dwarves. They always looked kinda goofy to me, here's a few examples:

This little snotling giving the finger.

Because he's in a robe, I converted him to have his hands together in the sleeves monk style and gave him a face mask and made him Da Ninja Grot, the personal assassin of the Red Gobbo and the revolushunary Komittee. He was modelled on a pile of dead enemies, marines, guard, orks etc. And he had a special attack called the five point palm 'splodin' grot tekneek. Basically he was a counts as ork warboss with a power klaw... His Nobz were also grotz, modelled from the old plastic night gobbos (the ones with big hands) to reflect their nob like size for being better fighters. They used ninja chop tekneeks (counts as choppas).

The grotz mobs were gnoblars, because they're cheaper and so tiny. I also had a looted basalisk that was pulled on sleds by slave orks and had an ork catapult instead of a cannon, throwing orks wrapped in acme tnt as enemies of Da Komittee.

I would love to see pictures of this army.
