From Vallejo's Facebook page, they will be unveiling the new True Metallic Metal paints at Scale Model Challenge 2025 at NH Eindhoven Conference Center 'Koningshof' this coming weekend.

Incredible. Mixing different metal tones and blending them, different shadings etc etc. This will be a world of fun experimenting all combos and the best of it, it suits both experienced and casual painters, both results are very good.

It's not the color, it's that they're both named Hydra Turquoise. Vallejo should be glad that it was the Army Painter and not Games Workshop...

I think it's a generic enough name, like so many different companies having an 'Ultramarine', that there's not actually much that could be done about it.
'Alpha Legion Turquoise' would be problematic. But turquoise seems like a pretty reasonable colour for a hydra.
The bigger problem for me is that neither of those colours are good representations of a stereotypical turquoise. The linked rock samples aside, as a colour I picture turquoise as a slightly greenish pale blue. The Vallejo is too blue, and the AP is too green and too dark.

.
Ultramarine is the name of an actual pigment made from ground lapis lazuli. It's like Raw Umber or Burnt Sienna. That's just the name of the color.

Yes, and it's quite a bit brighter and darker than the Vallejo and AP colors, which were deliberate copies of the GW Ultramarine Blue (or Buttplate Flange, or whatever stupid name it has now).
