So, this is now live:
https://gamefound.com/en/projects/monolith-board-games-sarl/berserk-the-board-game
Main Pledge:
Solo add on:
Some questions!
Do you "trust" Monolith to deliver? (Yes, it will almost certainly be late. Maybe even significantly so.) <-- alleged ship date of Nov. 2026
Will the miniature quality be good?
Will the game be fun?
At a current "all in" of ~$325 (before shipping and...tariffs) for 179 minis (some dupes in there), I'm not sure...

This is one I see myself regretting not buying into. It's also one I see myself regretting if I do buy into.

Love the manga, super intrigued by the game and the miniatures look great (at least as presented so far!) but...
I think Monolith has a spotty track record when it comes to crowd funded projects?
But I also think they've also always delivered in the end?
20 days to decide!

I really, REALLY want to back this, but ~336€ for the base game + solo expansion (plus shipping) is a hard pass.

I thought this would be a miniature version of Stern's 1980 arcade game, which sounded like a cool idea. "Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert!" Although it'd either have to be an inexpensive small game or they'd need to expand a lot on the original game. And would they make the figures simple, to match the original pixelated versions, or re-imagine them?
Anyway, it's odd that my mind went there, because I'm a fan of the Manga, too.
But this particular effort isn't all that interesting to me because they're focusing on the early stuff, while a lot of Miura's best designs came later on in the series. I love great monsters, and the demonic characters featured in the Millenium Falcon arc, from the new Band of the Hawk to Ghanishka's hordes, are spectacular, much more so than the Apostles featured in Berserk's opening chapters. I think the only relatively early character I'd want a mini of would be the human and demon versions of Nosferatu Zodd, who strangely doesn't seem to be on offer. Maybe they're saving him for a stretch goal; I can't really imagine anyone releasing a Berserk miniature game without him.
The renders so far aren't blowing my mind, either. They're OK, and maybe good enough if you just really want a physical mini of a favorite character, but it's not the most inspired digital sculpting I've seen. I'm sure you can find better 3-d printed sculpts of the same characters, although I do see the advantage of having these figures cast in more durable PVC.
Anyhow, I won't be buying into an early Berserk game just because I'd like to see miniatures from later story arcs.

I like a few of the minis, especially the snake demon thing. But not enough to back this project.
I'll just put it on my list & see if anyone parts it out on EBay.

Fellow Old School Arcade Gamer!
There was a sequel to the OG Berzerk (1980) Game - which was called Frenzy (1982) and it offered quite a few different settings, enemies and options but, yeah, not enough for a full fledged board game. (Maybe)
As for this Berserk, I'm still leaning towards staying in for now, but it might need something else/special to keep me in...

Any guesses on the scale? I have no experience with high-end board game minis.

Me too
I love Berserk, both manga and OG Anime, and would love to own some of the models. Apostle Zodd, snake count, Apostle Rosine, Skull Knight, all look great!
But would I ever play the game and/or paint the minis?
After many past kickstarters of similar things, I have to realise that it's highly unlikely that I ever will

Sadly, I agree too. I love Berserk and have followed it since the early 2000s, but realistically the only one of my game group that would enjoy/understand/appreciate it is me.
Kind of miffed as well that all of my favorite Apostles are in the Solitaire Box...

Well, we knew it was coming...
All-in
All-in will be revealed on Monday, giving you a week to prepare (and the shade will be available a little later).
To mark the All-in, we will also be unveiling the last two add-ons on Monday. The good news for those who have already pledged everything is that the discount offered by the All-in will cover the cost of these last two add-ons!
Be ready ...
Be ready indeed!

It's been probably 25 years since I watched the anime. Was Berserk the origin of the gigantic effin' sword or was that Final Fantasy? Minis look nice and weird in a good way regardless.

I'm not a hardcore fan, so, with the high pledge price and anticipated shipping and tariffs, I'm passing. Amazon recently had a Prime sale, so I spent my money.

Cloud's girlfriend was skewered by his silver haired commander about a year after The Eclipse. There is more than a little inspiration there.

All things considered. I've decided to cancel my pledge for this one.
Too many other things to do, and too much money for this one to be worth it to me...

Same. The gameplay legitimately looks fun, but a game starting at $300 for a still very limited amount of game modes/scenarios is bonkers. It's like $400 shipped... yuck.
