I was at a Warhammer shop, at they were selling "Liquid Green Stuff."

What the heck is that?

I remember Green stuff and brown stuff from the good old days of filling holes in pewter models, but I've never seen it as a liquid.

How do you even use it?

It works like a really thick paint/paste. Good for gap filling. Not so much for sculpting, but that’s what normal GS is for.

Trowel a bit into a gap, smooth it out, wait for it to cure. Prime/paint as normal.

I can't find GW Green Stuff.

Any recommendations on who to buy from?

I buy mine from Kneadatite. And I'm pretty sure GW does too. Keep it fresh in the freezer.

Does liquid green stuff have any shrinkage? And does it tolerate solvents like a champ? Some fillers have either one or both of these shortcomings, making them challenging in certain contexts..

I buy my green stuff from Gale Force Nine. There's plenty in the pack, it's reasonably priced and widely available. And I prefer my components separate over the combo strips that are also sold by some.

It does. I gave the stuff a try some fifteen years ago, so my memory isn't the best. But as I recall I wasn't thrilled by how you would end up with concave filling in the gap.

I think I also didn't get a smooth transition around the edges and didn't like the step it left.

I can do better with regular green stuff, so I never used liquid green stuff past a few trials.

Yeah, I tried it and didn’t think much of it. I use Mr. Dissolved Putty for filling tiny gaps.
