IMO these look great - imagery is right, Lara's looks, acts and talks as she should - attitude is right - (unlike the dire tv show at the moment) - Looking forward to them
Twin guns and acrobatics, exploration and wonder. Proper Tomb Raider

Though wouldn't say no to more Lara Voorhees.
I don't know about Catalyst but Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of the original isn't it? If so I would think it would avoid much that, but who knows how far from the original it will stray.

No idea what a Voorhees is but I was not a fan of the recent survival games

When we discussed the previous games on the forums here, it came to mind that Lara was acting a lot like the killer in a slasher movie, the way she hunts down and silently kills all those mooks.
Then the third game gave us this absolutely deranged moment and you know she went full Rambo, complete with covering herself in mud and hiding in the gawd-damned-walls hehe.
Spoiler:
I was okay with the survival stuff, but then again I loved the second game the most myself, which has a nice big map to move across and hunt stuff on, unlike the third, which felt smaller and rushed, especially that ending.
Ok that makes sense but - yeah she is a calm and confident adventurer not a ramboesque character.

I quite liked the Lara of the first reboot, the Legends and whatnot trilogy, she was calm and confident, but also had a cheeky side to her that made the games more lighthearted.
I did enjoy that Rambo moment of the 2013 game (has it been that long ago already?!), where you assault the castle and mow down everyone in your path, that had a good catharsis vibe to it.

Yep that was Lara from the start

Never knew that, as I never really could get into the OG half a dozen or so games they did back then, but that's good to know.

Yeah when Natla tries to hire her to find the Scion she replies "I only play for sport..." and does it because it sounds interesting and fun - she is ultra confident - too much so but that's Lara.
Famously when you finish the tutorial with a swim - she ends it by climbing out and saying to the player - "I need to get out of these wet things" - the tutorial immediately ends.
