Hey guys,

Every time I try to surge using the forum tools search function, I get the following error

java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "org.apache.lucene.search.IndexSearcher.search(org.apache.lucene.search.Query, org.apache.lucene.search.Sort)" because the return value of "net.jforum.search.DakkaSearchConnectionController.getIndexSearcher()" is null

Is this on my end or the servers?

So for now no infractions for duplicates I hope. Also the 3 month old warning is just so yesterday and a tad uptight, I'm reminded why I got tired of posting. But hey I'm not moderating

The three month warning is to remind people not to necro threads, its fine if people want to post in their own P&M blog after a long while but if someone sees it pop up in the normal forums its a good idea to then not post.

Do people really get angry over this? Example we have a Total war 40k thread about the game that isn't even out over 3 months old, why would one start a new thread especially if you want input from the participants or just add to the conversation? anyway I'm off topic now.

In that instance it is fine but yeah necroing is against the site rules (which can be found at the bottom of every page), so adding something substantive to an old thread where it is warranted is fine, necroing a 12 year old thread to ask for someone's paint recipe is not! (and yes, someone did indeed do that...).
