This whole thing has been amazing to watch. I am so glad everything has gone without any major trouble.

Next stop: Splashdown!!

I have watched every notable step (launch, moon orbit & the entire blackout) on the mission live with my kids (9 and 11), as everything has worked out to be after I get home from work. It's really cool to be able to show them something so awesome. Two years ago we took them down to Indiana to be right in the center of the path of totality for the Solar Eclipse, we also watched the visible comet that year and every once in a while during camping trips we watch the ISS as it goes overhead.

I watched live at work when they broke the distance record, and it made me feel so cool, like when I was able to get out of work just in time to watch the Mars Perseverance rover landing.

My birthday is in a week, and I have to admit I got myself some merch. I bought a really nice embroidered Artemis II mission patch from an Etsy seller that has all four crew listed down the side, and am sewing it onto an orange baseball cap to mimic their space suits. Might paint some blue stripes on it as well.

Nice. It’s good to see a great exploration endeavour that is full of positive vibes just now.

It’s been a particularly entertaining time for those of us with a cynical eye (that’s the left eye. The left eye. My right eye is my satirical news eye) on the Conspirapshere.

Flat Earthers and other assorted mindless Space Deniers have really shown their true colours.

Live streams just….making stuff up. Claims with no evidence or rational basis. Just loading up their inevitable excuses to keep the grift going.

Whilst space launches like this are showy, and expensive? They’re necessary. I don’t know if it will happen in my lifetime, but it’s my hope that if we can get some form of colony on the Moon, then humanity will be inspired once again.

After all, the age of great exploration here is all but done. There’s no new landmasses to discover. And for a naturally migratory species I think that’s been doing our collective heads in (not a psychologist or owt). So to put the stars back into reach? It might just be the thing we need. A renewed sense of hope and adventure.

Fed up of Scalpers? But still want your Exclusives? Why not join us?

Goodness me! It’s my 2026 Hobby Extravaganza!

I remember they set up a restaurant on the Moon back in the 60's. Great food, but no atmosphere.

On Kim Stanley Robinson’s timeline there should have been a mars landing this year!

On the Star Trek timeline we should be about to enjoy WW3.

In The Terminator's timeline, we should be right smack in the middle of fighting Skynet.

Coming soon....
